Gander Heritage Memorial Park - Gander - Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada | The beautiful Heritage Memorial Park was designed as a place of quiet thought and contemplation. Visitors can view various monuments reflecting the aviation and military history of the community including a life size monument of the heroic NL dog Sgt Gander and his WWII handler, and a granite wall with the names of all the Newfoundland aviators who lost their lives in WWII. The walkways are laid out to mimic the runways at Gander Airport during WWII.

The town has done a wonderful job of updating the old Cenotaph area. Well laid out memorials to military service personnel and local aviation events. Benches for sitting and also nicely illuminated in the nighttime.

This is a nice small park at the corner of an intersection dedicated to the tragedies of flight in Gander. The park does not have parking but there are nearby businesses and small streets where you can park your car.
