Summit Lake Provincial Park
We're from the UK and this is the 3rd time we've been to this site. It's a small Provincial park and well kept with flush toilets and plenty of bins. Very nice wardens. Easy access straight off the main highway to Nakusp. Access to the lake for paddle boarding or fishing is easy.

Summit Lake Provincial Park
A great hidden gem. This is a smaller (35 sites) provincial park. It is very well maintained by the on site hosts. Majority of bathrooms are flush toilet, electrical light switches, and very clean. Camping spots are clean, nice fire pits and picnic tables. Water pipe to fill trailers are centrally located within the park. There is a boat launch. Most sites you don’t feel like you are looking into your neighbours windows. Summit lake is a Great Lake for fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Wind can come up fast so be prepared.

Summit Lake Provincial Park
As you are leaving Nakusp make sure you head toward Nelson & Castlegar. South on Hwy 6. This park is close to the hwy and easy to find. The park include protected habitat for Western Toads with information signs posted. There is a good size day use parking area beside a grassy, shady picnic area with tables and a small gravel beach. There is a small campground along the lake sure with frequent small trails for beach access. Most of the beach access in the camping area is poor quality but is it is such a small park you can easily walk to good access to swimming. Lots of shade and nice size sites and limited privacy. Boat launch is paved but turns into gravel at lake edge. Nice park for an overnight or a few days. Drinking water available but no sani-dump, no utilities at sites, and no showers.

Summit Lake Provincial Park
Nicely equipped, friendly staff, clean sites, beautiful setting. Slightly upscale outhouses with flush toilets and running water. A bit close to the highway, but it settles down at night.

The only thing that would have been nicer is if the bathrooms were more in the center of the camp site instead of the one end. Or at least have some outhouses on the other end so that you wouldn't have to walk as far for people tenting. But other than that it was great.

Summit Lake Provincial Park
An absolutely stunning park with friendly staff. We visited here in late spring and it was absolutely perfect. The park is remote enough that tou have plenty of space, it's quiet, and you can see the stars, but close enough to nearby towns that you can go grocery shopping or out to dinner without any fuss. The park operator, Sam, for the time we were there would drive around the loop and bring you firewood if you flagged him down, and was a super friendly guy. The toilets are pristine and there are plenty spread throughout the camp, along with drinkable water. We're looking forward to coming back for toadfest!

It's more rv Park than real camping, payphone, flushing toilets, power and running water is not part of a true camping" experience. The sites are decently spread apart
