Unfortunately although we like the store, selection and prices I will no longer be shopping there. On a busy weekend night only one cashier for family size shopping purchases. Huge line up so we decided to use self checkout. This took forever! Computer kept miss reading, not finding codes or bagging issue causing an employee to come and key in code to correct. It took forever and by the time we left I was completely fed up with the whole process. I don’t remember ever applying to work for this store but somehow I became an unpaid cashier that night. Meanwhile a paid employee (My new Supervisor) stood and watched me work correcting the errors. So what seemed like 20 minutes and $300 dollars later, without an employee discount, we were on our way. For some of you this may not sound like a big issue. However I work all week to go shopping, not work for free, taking away someone else’s job. I also did not decide to short staff my store, inconvenience my customers to increase my profits and cut my costs. Somehow these smart businesses have forgotten for a lot of customers the cashier is the only staff representative they see. The only human connection to the experience of their store. One overwhelmed, overworked cashier and a bunch of machines don’t leave a friendly first or last impression of your business. I’ll pay more if needed for a positive shopping experience but it appears it won’t be here.

The self checkout lady was incredibly rude during our visit. Won’t be coming back here.

This Food Basics offered a very pleasant grocery shopping experience! The produce section is very well organized and the produce very fresh with more variety than the usual store. The store is very well stocked with different varieties of each item. The section containing foods from different countries also adds more variety and the frozen food section is fantastic! Very friendly cashiers and a lottery booth on the way out! Very nice store!

Their receiving staff doesn’t know how to talk. I was delivering something there and one of them shut the door in front of me and said they don’t need these and he was very rude.

Best produce selection and quality in Leamington and Kingsville.

Slow checkout process. Helpless staff, unreasonable amount of time spent on at $0.50 coupon. I did, however, enjoy my unsolicited lesson at the self checkout regarding scales, bags, software and security codes. 5 minute estimate turned into 30 minutes I'll never get back. See ya never.

The flyer advertised 5 lb. of potatoes for $1.25, but there weren't any. The staff person said, by mistake" the store had only been sent 10 bags. There WERE 5 lb. bags of Canadian white potatoes in the store

Loved it. I always see here sale evry now and then. Love the way how this shop look very clean and nice

A very clean store, well-stocked, low prices. Excellent customer service from most employees. Lots of parking with handicap accessible spots. Washrooms for customers. There is a lotto counter but good luck getting anyone to help you, have stood many times waiting for help and left bc no one came even when they saw me standing there. They have self checkouts which are very easy to use and fast. A great variety of ethnic foods.

Three employees, none of who can wear a mask properly, moving a skid of water up & down isle, blocking customers from products & not doing any perceivable work.Assisted at self checkout by friendly, helpful employee. Not enough to have me return due to annoyance from other staff.
