I’ll say it’s the best biking trail I’ve ever ridden. Very flat , lots of natures to see. It’s an excellent trail for a family biking trip.

My partner and I just got back from riding the entire trail from our doorstep in Guelph and back. We had so much fun and were so impressed by the quality of maintenance done to the trail and the vistas. We were blown away. We thankfully uploaded the ride from Ride with GPS...highly recommended with all of the detours. Most of the trail is quite easy, however, the detour section just before Goderich is a little challenging. Maybe because we were tired and had run out of water but it is recommended that (unless you have good CX or Mtn bike experience) you hike your bike up and down some of those hills. There are big chunks of gravel and washouts. We also recommend that you stop and fill up your water bottles at every opportunity. We made the mistake of thinking there would be a water stop in the final detour area and were sadly out of luck and rode over 50 km with dry bottles.Overall a great trip and highly recommended.

After spending 196kms on the trail, I wanted to provide a heads up for folks looking to cycle the route;1. Look at the map on the G2G website CAREFULLY. The signposts along the way do not accurately reflect how far you will have to cycle if you go end to end. Prior to Goderich, the Auburn bridge is out, a 400 metre portion of the trail has been replaced with a 10km detour on gravel roads with hills.2. Regarding the detour at the old underpass just outside of Blyth, the instruction on the signs (as of the date of this writing) are different from the map on the website. Once you get to the road, jog to the left and go down behind the barrier, the maps at location suggest you go down Blyth Road to Dutch Line.3. Pay particular attention to the detours. I don't think that they are emphasised well enough on the website itself, you HAVE to review the map. I would suggest printing the detours and carrying them with you.4. Take lots of water/electrolyte fluids. while some folks leave out coolers that you can buy from, they are transitory and are often taken in on a Sunday.5. When coming from the Goderich end watch carefully as you come towards Milverton, there is a detour that many folks miss, if you start riding on grass, you missed it!6. The first 6 kms of the Lake Huron Route going towards Goderich are quite rough going, I don't believe there has been a lot of maintenance there. The pathway is narrow, has a lot of weeds and gopher holes, watch where you go!Hopefully this is some help for those considering the route!

Not very much vehicle parking available considering this is the start of a long trail. Also, parking is on the opposite side of the road so you have to cross a busy road. Many vehicles were parked on the shoulder. The trailhead starting point itself is very obvious though.

Very poor signage. Wanted to pickup the trail on lucknow line but there are 4 paths within ft.of each other . Never been on it before of course we took the wrong one .ended up in a farm field fill of poison ivy. That ended my grandaughters trip real quick. If your going to maintain.a trail do it right

Headed out cycling for Goderich on Friday July 26th 2019 started at the Elmira access the trail was great to Millbank but soon after that it started going down hill from there (Milverton) This trail CAN’T be SAFELY ridden ( loose gravel, rocks ground hog holes)grasses and burr bushes have been more or less cut down but still can be a detriment. We meet some other couples on the trail that we’re also extremely discouraged at the condition of the trail. If you what people to be supportive of this project the website needs to be routinely updated and up front about what can be ridden safely. Also the food&supply list is out of date. There are sections on this run you could easily run out of water if not planed properly. Information needs to be more detailed,on what should be ridden and what should be hiked. The concept is excellent and some day I hope it’s realized .

Parking for about 7 cars available. It fills up by the afternoon, but you might catch someone leaving.Rode to Wallenstein and back on my rodie. Lovely ride.

Very smooth trail, perfect for cycling or walking. There aren't too many road crossings so it is a safe place to cycle.

We biked this trail- Guelph to goderich. It was better than we expected. We had gravel bikes and it was no problem. It was well maintained and marked well while on the trail. The issues were the detours. There were two spots on detours not marked at all.And that last detour about 15k before goderich was so disheartening. It was a 10k detour making the whole trail 140k instead of the 120k we were expecting. But we are glad we did it. We stopped at Anna Mae”s Bakery and Cowbell brewery- both which weren’t far off the trail. Highly recommend both of those.

This part of the trail (Elmira to Guelph) is pretty level, great combination of shade and sun, and love knowing which cross roads we are coming upon.
