Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church

We decided to get married with my fiancé in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Montréal and we talked to the priest to discuss the process. We’ve been attending this church since summer 2022 as I came to Montréal from Toronto. The priest refused to discuss further details and according to his words: he only deals with people he knows for the past 10-20 years. He also mentioned that people get married to get their pr card. I’ve been living in Canada since 2014 and my fiancé since 2007, and we simply wanted to get the blessings from God in this church, instead I got « a slap on my face » with this conversation, and the priest didn’t even want to listen to our situation. I’m going to raise this issue on the international level as everyone should have the right to get blessings if they ask for it. My whole family in Ukraine are all shocked and say in Ukraine it can never happen that a priest refuses to do his job. We are extremely disappointed and speechless. From now on we’ll never attend this particular church and are going to find another church where we can get blessings from God to get married and deal with another priest.

My mom's funeral mass was at The Holy Ghost , it is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen . Beautiful Mass . Very caring .
