Alberta Stillwaters - Alberta Stillwater Adventures | Freshwater fly fishing and casting lessons for fishermen and women at lakes, ponds, streams or river situations using dry-flies, streamers, nymphs or attractor patterns. Stillwater casting clinics take place in the greater Edmonton area of Alberta and include the use a fly reel, fly rod and fly line. Available species of trout include, rainbows, brown trout, tiger trout and brook trout. Guided trips are also available, no waders needed, all trips are in our super secure 14ft Marlon jon boat.

Alberta Stillwater Adventures
I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Monteith this week. I found him to be a fountain of knowledge and remarkably skilled. The relaxed way he goes over complex concepts is awesome and really made the experience stand out. Hands on teaching with simple yet effective rules and analogies. I highly reccomend his 101 course to anyone interested in learning or perhaps those who jumped in without enough knowledge.

Alberta Stillwater Adventures
Recently attended the fly casting basics course. Mike was extremely knowledgeable and provided expert insight into techniques, equipment and commonly seen mistakes. With many years of standard fishing experience to build bad habits for Flyfishing, he had our group casting like pros in a short 2 hour lesson! Highly recommended!
