Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Enterprise does not even deserve the one star for the horrendous experience on my most recent reservation. I have been using Enterprise for several years but they've definitely lost a loyal customer after this unacceptable and frustrating experience. I had reserved a Standard Elite SUV (website states Audi Q3 or similar) for May 6, 2023 for 12:00pm. I even called the branch the day prior to confirm they'd have the vehicle ready to which they stated that they had a couple of similar class vehicles on the lot. When I went to pick up the vehicle, to my surprise, they did not have the Audi Q3 or similar available. The person at the counter tried to accommodate by offering a lower class vehicle, not his fault by any means, but I reserved a certain class for a reason. I contacted the main contact number for Enterprise and the agent took my information and stated the Regional Manager would take over the situation and call me shortly to arrange another vehicle from another location where available. I waited over an hour but received no call. Then I began calling the main contact number numerous times, with the same result of the agents collecting my information and saying the Manager will be in touch shortly. Also, I was hung up on several times because they had no answers. Since it is a Saturday, I was unable to secure any other vehicles with other rental agencies as they close early on Saturdays and most do not open at all on the weekends. It is now 8:00pm (8 hours since my initial call to customer service) and I have yet to receive a call from the manager. Needless to say, our first family trip since covid lockdowns got canceled last minute and forfeited all the money for bookings of accommodations plus the days booked off from work got wasted for nothing. As per the customer service agents, sorry for the inconvenience

Everything is pretty good about Enterprise. They can pick you up at home and take you back home, a feature I LOVE! It's pretty accommodating, but despite being corporate, each store has its own set of rules and regulations... deposits are required, and they will try to accommodate clients, but don't expect your deposit back when you return the car. I rented for a week in mid December, still havent gotten the deposit check mailed to me yet.... although they said they confirmed it was mailed out the day after I returned the car. Be sure to top up the gas tank on return, or they charge you over $2 per liter for how much they need to fill it. If you overtop it, though, the most you get is a thank you. They also work with reduced rates for ICBC, so still one of the better rental car companies.

The new manager there is great. He remedied a situation from another location . Made us happy customers.

Reserved a Premium Elite SUV - 5 passenger Cadillac for pick up at 10am. I showed up at 2pm and was given a dirty Suburban - 8 passenger SUV that was not clean outside, very filthy unvacuumed interior, dirty windows all around etc... I asked the staff to quickly vacuum the drivers and passenger side, but I didn't have time to wait for it to be done properly. The Suburban had been on their lot all day and was not fueled or cleaned. Very disappointed

We had the worst experience ever on the Chilliwack location.The rental car wasn't cleaned and fueled up from the previous customer. Here you can see the vehicle condition at the time of pick up. Everything was filthy and the garbage from the previous customer still in between the seats. Gross sticky stains on the back seats, cup holders and radio buttons.... And in addition the fuel tank was only 3/8 full.There is no excuse for this condition as there were 4 staff members sitting around in the office when my husband picked up the car. One of those staff members should have been able to prepare the car for the new rental.I contacted the company and made them aware about our experience. No reaction! Would not recommend this company.

Another successful and very pleasant car rental from the staff at this location. Every time I have rented from them it has been a pleasure. They are consistently efficient, professional, courteous and friendly. Every time, without fail, I have felt like a valued customer. Highly recommend them.

Amazing service, rental car from a branch in the interior broke down just after Hope, BC. They had me in a different car and on my way within 5 minutes. A new customer for life!

I reserved an AWD SUV on March 1st for a camping trip out of province. I went to pick it up today and was told they didn’t have a suitable vehicle - and offered me a compact car or a pickup truck (both would not be suitable for our camping gear).I was surprised by the lack of empathy by not only the local branch, but by the HQs when I called in.I booked ahead to make sure I would not be left with last minute stresses - but was left with no real options from Enterprise.I called Clearway Rental and they were so kind and sympathetic to my needs. They were able to pull some strings and reserve me an AWD SUV in Abbotsford and were even willing to drive me there.Do yourself a favour - don’t trust Enterprise if you want to feel secure in a reservation.

Other than a misunderstanding after I returned the car, I'd still recommend this outlet of Enterprise. An employee made a mistake but after discussing it, admitted they made a mistake. They have a great selection of cars, (I wanted the dodge charger but it's been a long time since my foot had access to that much horsepower, or the Austin Mini convertible for that heat wave) but I went with a car like my own lol. Good selection of other kinds as well as friendly customer service that made renting a car quick and painless.
