Twelve Mile Coulee Natural Environment Park

A pocket of wilderness in the middle of suburbia, the 12 mile coulee is an awesome place to ride, run, walk and play. I've been riding there a long time, and locals have been steadily making improvements to the single track trail system over the years. What was once a technical trail with 7 creek crossings now has retaining walls to guard against erosion, and single-track plank bridges. It's a wonderful place to explore wilderness in your backyard! I've ridden it in all four seasons, and it has something to offer dog walkers, hikers, trail runners, cyclists and explorers in every season. If you're riding there, please be mindful and polite to people on foot, it keeps the atmosphere fun! I've included some photos of our fall exploits this year.

Always a great series of paths to follow through. Very few people and the resident moose family left us to our way. You do share paths with cyclists but they are all friendly and polite. Great place!

An awesome off leash dog park in the city! It’s full of trees at the bottom with lots of trails and stream of water for the pups. With that being said- lots of wildlife.

Another great trail in the city! You don't have to drive far into the mountains for a great hike. This trail in Tuscany has great bike and hike paths where you can enjoy beautiful streams and views. It can get muddy though if it rained recently so plan ahead.

This is a great place on or after a hot day.Remember your bug spray.The trail are beautiful.

Great city walk that feels like you're not in the city. Some steep up and downs if you descend into the coulee but worth it for the tranquility. There is a family of resident moose who you often meet. Give them the due respect and distance and they are not a problem, in fact a treat to see them.

I recently had the pleasure of exploring a beautiful scenic spot that left a lasting impression. The walking trails were undoubtedly the highlight of my experience, offering a well-marked path that allowed me to fully immerse myself in the surroundings. The breathtaking scenery captivated me, making every step a delight.One aspect that added an extra charm to my day was encountering a group of enthusiastic school kids along the way. Their infectious energy and joy of being outdoors resonated with me, creating a lively and positive atmosphere. It was heartwarming to witness their happiness and reminded me of the simple pleasures of nature.However, despite the overall positive experience, there were a couple of factors that deterred me from fully enjoying my visit. The first concern arose from encountering some inconsiderate mountain bikers on the trails. Regrettably, a few of them seemed to lack road courtesy, which created some uncomfortable situations. It would be beneficial if all visitors could adhere to basic etiquette and respect each other's presence on the trails.Additionally, I must mention an incident that left my friend and me feeling uneasy. Two large dogs, unleashed and unsupervised, unexpectedly approached us. As dog lovers, we understood that not all dogs pose a threat, but the uncertainty and fear of being approached by unfamiliar animals dampened our experience. Ensuring that dogs are kept on leashes is essential for the safety and peace of mind of all visitors.

We were at a wedding on New years Eve and it was a beautiful place nice gazebo too..had a beautiful sunny day ..

This hike was pretty good and contained mostly single track trails. Bikes share a lot of the trail with hikers but seemed like the shady areas were mostly hiking and the sunny trail on East side were mainly bikers.

Had a nice little hike with my dog. Very quiet - almost forgot I was in the city at times. We kept an eye/ear out for cyclists and had lots of time to move off the path for them. The trails are rocky and narrow in most places.
