Michael Lake Kennel

Great staff - they like to mingle the dogs with their own size and socialize as much as possible. Even get fence visits by the local bovine population which gets mixed response. LOL

They have looked after our GSD quite a few times and we'll never look elsewhere. Great friendly, and helpful staff. Very professional, flexible hours greatly appreciated (unlike many other places) and very reasonable fees. Our dog has a few issues although very loving and they always accommodate us. We have been using Michael lake for 10 years now, several times a year, and staff and service has always been excellent! Given the choice I suspect my current dog would rather live year round at Michael Lake than at home.

Michael Lake Kennel took excellent care of our German Shepard when we were travelling in Southeast Asia for 2 months this summer. They were by far the best value for long term boarding in British Columbia. I highly recommend this establishment to take loving care of your Fur Baby.

First time using this facility, Tia was there for 6 days. I called the kennel twice while I was away for an update, had to leave a message both times, no one ever called me back. When I returned from my trip to pick up my dog, she was covered in mud, and smelled like an old farm animal, her bedding was also covered in mud. The dogs are kept in large outside dirt pens during the day. When I asked the female attendant why I never got a phone call back she said she did not have time to make phone calls because she was the ONLY ONE taking care of TWENTY DOGS!! I do not recommend this kennel as it is obvious they do not have the staff to do the job correctly. We will not be coming back.

Great people, Good price and our Coonhound always comes home tired from a day of play.

Interesting reviews. We are new on the Island and with the move from Vancouver, we added a new member to our family, that became the #1 member and he is loved to death... Our 11-month old Bailey has had the opportunity to stay with our neighbors and their dog when we are away, but I felt, it's a good idea to find a backup. We have been looking and asking others, but never had a pleasant feedback, until today, when I heard about Michael Lake Kennel.I can see, that the owners of the Kennel have been paying attention to the reviews and acknowledging them, which is so rare and I loved that. Now, I have couple questions before filling the application, if we can bring Bailey for a little while before checking in to get familiar with the place and if he will have to be in the kennel/cage at night.Thank you for bringing this important place to be for our four-legged sweethearts and we'll hope to see you sometimes in the near future.

Fantastic Kennel, our dog always comes home tired, dirty and so very happy. He gets the full farm experience!
