Portofino Bakery

This bread is unbelievable. I am literally (and for the record I know what that word means) never buying any other bread as long as it’s available. The taste, the texture are out of this world. Don’t change anything!!

All of the bread was moldy and it's double the price of regular non-moldy bread. Stay away from this, very disappointed.

Full disclosure, I work with Portofino Bakery. However, I love the product so much I still had to post a review. I cannot get it in Ontario, but I bring some home with me every time I visit BC. The Peasant Loaf freezes so well and is the best bread I have tried from a grocery store.

I called the bakery yesterday to ask why the quality of their bread has plummeted. Someone was supposed to call me back but they didn't bother! For years I have considered their bread, especially their Seeded Hearth bread, the very best in the marketplace for taste, texture etc. No more! The loaves are now smaller, the slices are thicker which means you go through the loaf faster. The worst problem now is the huge air holes/pockets throughout the loaf. You can't make a decent sandwich as the filling falls through the holes. Obviously they have changed something in the ingredients list. So many companies have cut corners to increase their profits, Portofino now being such a company. You just lost me as a customer and I will show the grocery store, which is a large chain, the poor quality of your bread which means you may lose them as a customer as well.

Great products. Their bread is the first and only bread option for us every grocery shop. The quality and taste cannot be beat. Simple, fresh, and understandable ingredients that never disappoint. The roasted garlic and the peasant loaf are our staples. We also love to enjoy the espresso cookies. Portofino has a wide range of products that we are always looking to try out.

Bakery goods come in all sizes and shapes. I prefer Pretzel Kaiser Buns from Portofino Bakery. As with all their products, they are quality. I did have a quality issue and it was remedied well beyond my satisfaction. I love the consistency, the taste, and how well they go with my favorite burger. Good things are hard to come by but Portofino comes thru with them in all shapes and sizes. Try some.John

Very disappointed. There was a huge air pocket which ran through the entire (peasant) loaf of bread, rendering it nearly unusable. Judging by the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. In the future, I will definitely avoid purchasing this company's products.

Bags are way too. If, complete waste of plastic to the land fill! Loaves got smaller in diameter and not shorter in length, price went up, but the bags now look silly with a large bread roll inside them . . . great. Read but it's only bread, time to buy grocery store bread.

I’m addicted to their sourdough. It has the perfect chew. The crust isn’t the conventional artisan sourdough crust that is hard after toasting so it won’t gouge my gums. Great for my little niece and I like the portion size of their slices. Good for little kids or a snack or I have 2 slices for a meal. I’ve eaten 3 loaves within the past 4 weeks and the quality is exceptional. Not sure about these air pockets other reviewers have mentioned. I didn’t experience any in mine. Might’ve been a quality issue that’s been resolved now.Their coconut chocolate chip cookies are also delicous. They’re a generous sized cookie with hearty oats. Will definitely be packing these to fuel me for my hikes this year!

Bought the orange cookies today from Costco cause they were on sale I am not a fan of Orange in Cookies. Fyi the manager should Visit Save On Foods and he will see That the fastest selling cookie is Oatmeal Raisin They cant make enough They are always sold out of this, All the others sit around and eventually get discounted to move the product same as your experiment with Orange at Costco. Stop dreaming and give people what they want!!!!!! You will make more money retail instead of having to discount your Product Otherwise Your cookie is vey good.
