In terms of quality this place is up there, the sashimi is buttery soft and delicious. Nice large sized pieces of fish in the rolls, sashimi is decent sized. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for here. Having been so disappointed with Naru in Fredericton I'm happy to know I can go here when I am in Saint John. We spent $100 for two, the same in Naru. Night and day in terms of quality and portion sizes.

I was excited to try Sense of Tokyo again after living away for many years. Unfortunately my experience left a sour taste when, after an hour of waiting, the server came to our table to inform us that our order had been lost. For such a small establishment I'm shocked it took this long to notice. Despite the bad service I was still handed a bill for my drink which I paid (although in retrospect I should have maybe just left). Terrible experience and one that should be reviewed by management on how to handle in future.

Very nice place, cozy and reasonably priced. Customer service was fine, a bit slow with only one waitress but the food was amazing. The miso soup was good, the spicy chicken udon was not spicy at all, and the yakisoba was great. The Maki rolls were phenomenal. Great job. Would recommend.

We went there on Saturday for supper. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were great. We order a few things. I ordered a black dragon roll, my oldest ordered a caterpillar roll, my wife ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl and my youngest ordered a bowl of rice with salmon sashimi. The meal was mediocre at best. The presentation of the rolls were not authentic. In my meal, it was just 2 rows of 4 small maki pieces with eel on top and for my son it was the same but with avocado. The rolls were very small, lacked flavor and presentation. For my wife's meal, they added too much cabbage to the meal, making it taste very blend instead of the sweetness that usually comes with those dishes. And for my youngest, he expected to get a bit more than just 1/2 a cup of rice. In all, the meal came to roughly 90$ and we left the restaurant still hungry. I have eaten in many Japanese restaurants and sushi bars. When a roll is ordered, it must look like it's description. For example, a dragon roll would look like a shape of a dragon, a rainbow roll would be very colorful like a rainbow, etc. So unfortunately I give it 1 star for the service, 1 star for the atmosphere. The price does not reflect well the presentation of the food we were served. A bit disappointing. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day.

Frist time ordering from there and got the fried sweet potato roll- really tasty :) I'm vegan and they put all of the roles we ordered in the same box, but ended up remaking mine so I'd be able to eat it. Great customer service

Good service, sushi is good and price is good! Busy though so have to come early to get a table if no reservation. Have been coming here for 10+ years and always been a good experience.

They have a small dining area, so if you are coming with more than 4 people, I suggest calling first and make a reservation just incase. When I went for dinner, it wasn’t too busy but eventually, by the time I’m ready to leave, all the tables were occupied. They give you free miso soup and they have free wifi too, which is a bonus since I’m not from there. This is not AYCE, it is off the menu. I ordered the California roll, Philly roll and fried sushi. They were all delicious. I’m 7 months pregnant and I was craving for sushi so badly. What I love about their menu is that it indicates with a symbol for which sushi roll is cooked, so it’s easy to decide what you want when you can’t eat anything raw. I had good service as well! I just felt bad that there was only one waitress working so she was hustling around between tables. But overall, really good!!

Truly one of the hidden gems in saint John. Really amazing food and great service. Very reasonably priced. It is better to make a reservation so that you can be guaranteed to get a table when you arrive.
