I recently dined at Suren Restaurant and had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a memorable evening. I highly recommend Suren Restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Five stars all the way!

I was excited to try out this new Persian restaurant in The Burnaby Heights neighborhood. Inside the decor is modern and the waiter is nice. There is live music but was it a little loud, I had trouble hearing our conversations. Food was delicious. We ordered a bunch of dishes & shared family style. My favourite was the walnut stew & almond stew. Everyone else liked the lamb but unfortunately that’s the only meat I don’t eat. They are generous with their rice, each dish came with a plate of rice & it’s cooked perfectly. The take out containers are nice too. Overall it was very good value. I will come back again.

I’m not sure what’s wrong with your quality. Me and my partner used to order from you guys many times. However, every time we realized that you decreased your food quality. The rice and meet used to be perfect but we couldn’t see it anymore.Hope this feedback help you improve and get back to the same quality.

The food was amazing. We loved the « tahdig » dish which is crispy bread and rice with stews on top of it. Kabob koobideh was very good too. Joojeh could be better. It was a little dry for our taste. We ordered bunch of food to share. Koobideh, joojeh, vaziri, gheymeh, ghorme, almond stew which I believe is a Kermanshahi dish. We also got wine and beer, salad shirazi and kashk bademjoon. They were ok but not impressive. My friend loved the fillet kabob very much. The server was very attentive.

First time trying Suren! Seated promptly for two at dinner time. They have a very big dining area. We were given the menu and we ordered the smoked eggplant appetizer to share, and a kebab plate each. It was a lot of food - we could have just shared one kebab plate.Smoked eggplant - tasty with tomato undertones. Came with four pieces of flatbread. Easy to share.Steak kebab - came with a huge plate of rice, grilled tomato, grilled pepper (actually spicy) and grilled steak. Steak was already cut up which I appreciated. Very tasty. They don’t have a dessert menu so we went up to the counter to take a look. They have rice pudding as well as many different types of baklava. We ordered the baklava, which comes in 3, so we got an assortment. We particularly liked the Turkish kind.

Very pleased on our first try of this almost-newly opened Persian restaurant. We were greeted with a complementary delicious tea with rose water.Food tasted very good with generous portions. Kebobs were well cooked but still juicy.Price was reasonable. Staff were very nice.As an improvement, it’s better if the host checks with the guests more frequently to se whether they need anything.

Having had the pleasure to dine at the Suren Persian Restaurant in Burnaby, I found their menu steeped in rich Persian culinary tradition with some unexpected detours. The Koobideh kebab is, for me, a decisive factor in judging the authenticity and skill of a Persian kitchen. Suren's rendition of the iconic dish was commendable in several respects. The kebab was fresh, meaty, and notably free of fillers such as excessive fat or breadcrumbs. The integrity of the meat was thus preserved, which should be celebrated. However, I must say the overwhelming presence of onion in the Koobideh became a major detractor. The excessive use of this ingredient drowned out the delicate nuances of the dish, leaving a uniform taste of onion that was hard to overlook. It certainly detracted from the otherwise good quality meat.Their Joojeh kebab, traditionally made from chicken breast, was an absolute delight. The chicken was succulent and moist, and the flavors were vivid and harmonious. Notably, it was not dry, which is a common pitfall with breast meat - an affirmation of the chef's adept handling of the meat. The Tahchin, a classic Persian rice cake, featured an unusual addition - chunks of chicken. While not traditional, this could have added an extra dimension to the dish if executed correctly. Unfortunately, the chicken in the Tahchin was somewhat dry and lacked proper seasoning, overshadowing the otherwise well-made rice cake. The salad served was fresh, with a variety of crisp, brightly colored vegetables. Its portion was quite generous, an appreciated accompaniment to the richly flavored dishes. The Dough, a Persian yogurt drink, was a pleasant surprise. It had a mild taste that was not overwhelming, providing a perfect palate cleanser. To sum up, Suren Persian Restaurant serves a commendable Persian menu with a few unexpected twists. While not everything hit the mark, the quality ingredients, preparation, and overall dining experience make it a worthwhile visit if you're in the Burnaby area. With some adjustments, I believe Suren has the potential to truly shine as a beacon of Persian cuisine. For now, it remains a good restaurant worth visiting, especially for Persian food enthusiasts.

Food tastes ok, services was also average and atmosphere was also average. We went on a weekday so there wasn't any live music. Comparing to the other Persian restaurants in the city I would say this was better.
