Motel 6 Saanichton, BC - Victoria Airport

Excellent location to ferry, sadly the first room had a moldy smell, second room was worse, the smell of mold was so bad had to leave window open, bathroom fan on, and the fan on the a/c! The bathroom was full of little black bugs! If you have breathing issues not a place to lay your head down for the night!

I really wish I could throw this business a higher rating, based on the employees alone. They were all very polite and welcoming. Excellent customer service. The rooms are decent enough, easy to get comfortable.However, the biggest crime is how the rooms are basically interconnected with doors that are extremely sound permitting. When your neighbor gets in, you're fully aware. I was listening to the news from the other room. There is absolutely zero privacy if you have a neighbor.I have stayed at worse locations due to poor upkeep, old buildings, and cleanliness, but I was more uncomfortable here due to this issue.

Cute well kept Motel 6. Great staff and a darling little kitchen with our room!There is some road noise being next to Hwy, but, not bad w/windows closed.

We stayed here briefly at the end of April 2023. There was a booking error with the Waddling Dog and we wound up staying at this motel for an evening.Positive notes; the front desk agent the first day was a younger lady who was quite kind and helpful. The location was nice as we were only about 30 min to a nice little walk and the community is lovelyOn the downside;When we arrived in the room we were exhausted after travelling all day, and found that the room under us had upwards of ten people drinking, smoking and loudly partying under where we were trying to sleep. This went on past 4AM. The noise was impossible to sleep through and the room smelled like cigarette smoke when we came back from visiting family (windows were closed so assuming someone was smoking in the room below us?). Noisy and party environment.Additionally, the towel and hand towel were still used from the previous stay (per the makeup and grime on the towels). The mildew we expected due to the location, but the cleanliness of the room was quite horrific. There were dark long hairs in several places (my hair is blonde, my partner has short cut hair), including in the shower and in the bed. The floors were covered in dirt and were too dirty for us to take off our shoes. The bed was so dirty we slept in our full clothes and used our sweaters to cover the pillows as they were obviously used. The sink, doors, shower, and walls were covered in dirty handprints, including the bathroom door which is particularly gross. Toilet also uncleaned. As professional cleaners, we acknowledge the room was not cleaned before we checked in, from lack of surface cleaning to dirty linen, to genuine human grime and body waste.On a smaller note, the TV also did not work properly, and there was only one outlet open to plug devices into. Bar of soap was used by previous motel check in, and did not leave other soap to use.We would've happily switched rooms but were told this was what was available upon arrival. I do additionally still have photos but due to the gross nature of the pictures I'd prefer not to have to post.I'm hopeful this location improves due to how beautiful the surrounding community is, but am incredibly disappointed at how absolutely filthy and loud the room was. This is a health concern if nothing else.

Another case of pictures telling a different story to reality. This is like going on a date with a girl or guy who uploaded pictures of their best angles from 5 years ago. You show up optimistic and excited (what a deal Motel 6!) and find a resemblance, but also can tell you've been dupped. Little details you won't like of this place start creeping in everywhere. Sub-par cleaning, paper thin walls, outdated TVs, mediocre beds. At least it looks modern". And don't think allowing pets is a positive. The people above us must've had an ostrich that decided to go nuts at 4 am. What a nightmare!!!! I don't recommend this place much. Skip it

The room was clean, updated, and had everything we needed. The service was nice. One huge problem - you sleep like in a paper box! We couldn't rest because of the noise other people did. We complained to the reception, but it did not really help....Unfortunately that's how the building is made and how people don't care about others.

I stayed there yesterdayEverything was niceWhen we came back to check out we had only our bag and our shoes was stolen and we try to ask to front desk but she said it was only the bag she got.It’s a straight theft to guest property and front desk doesn’t even try to resolve it. Just unbelievable. The front desk even try to connect to house keepingIt is this blue shoes.

My stay at the motel 6 was great until I had employees knocking on my door everyday asking if we can switch rooms because there was a mix up at the check in. The first time was okay, the young lady had said she can put the other guest in a different room. The next day a different lady had came up to the room and asked us to move into a room with only one bed as we paid for a room with two beds and I said I do not want to move and she said she would make us leave the motel all together if we did not move.. we had a friend who was supposed to be staying here as well as he was already paid for and he could not end up staying here as they messed up his reservation. overall very unorganized and rude. If I were you I’d go to another place to rent a room.

We had an excellent stay here. The room suited our purposes perfectly. It was mid week though, and not overly busy. I appreciated that they spaced occupants apart. It made for a quiet stay. My item for the suggestion box would be for a comfortable chair to be in the room, instead of just wooden ones.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas. Staff tried very hard to accomodate my needs. Really appreciated the complimentary white noise machine offered. Liked it so much I bought my own. (Amazon just 30 bucks.)Very nice at the back of the property. Quiet and green space for the dog. Lots of birds and bunnies to entertain.Thanks especially to Steven.
