one of the highlights of our recent trip to quebec! we did the self guided tour and it was one of the best i have ever taken. thoughtfully laid out and the information was fascinating without being overwhelming. please note that the restaurant is closed in the winter which was the only disappointment when we arrived. other than that, we enjoyed learning about the wendat people, their culture, their traditions, and so much more. hoping to revisit in the summer and enjoy their traditional foods!

This was one of the most interesting experiences for me; both culturally and spiritually. The site is about about 25-minute drive from Quebec city, and 3-hour drive from Montreal. Very clean and we'll organized. Large and clean washrooms, and a gift shop with some beautiful, unique and very reasonably priced items. What made this experience stellar was the guide. She was very articulate and knowledgeable. We have learned so much about the Wendake (Huron) and their way of living, and traditions. She told us how the French had affected their existence, and the facts that our government has been trying to hide from the world for years. It was a wonderful, eye-opening experience. We had an English-speaking guide. To guarantee a tour in the language of your choice, you must book online, which is very easy to do.Highly recommend!

Beautiful place with an amazing history. It's interesting to go during the winter to understand how resilient they are. I loved it! I would like to go back during the summer again to see a different atmosphere !

Very good place to learn history and ways of life of Huron-Wendat First Nation. The guide gave interesting explanations to our group (about 12 persons). It took about one hour. Nice gift shop on-site.

This is a great place. I went with my family and we signed up for a guided tour, though you could explore on your own if you wished. There was an option to have the guided tour in both French and English and I would certainly recommend having a tour as it was a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more than just what we could read on signs and see in the displays. Our guide in particular was very knowledgeable and approachable. There's so much history and culture here and this site is a great way to help understand traditional life and to understand how the people have struggled and continue to struggle under colonialism and yet how resilient they are and how they continue to work to better their community. There is a large gift shop as well, with many interesting items to purchase, and the products are produced by, and proceeds going towards indigenous people. At they same time, I did not feel that anyone was pushy or that there was any pressure to buy anything. There is also a restaurant on site that serves traditional foods, though we did not eat here due to dietary restrictions. This place is not a polished or slick place, but it's still very much worth the time. It is good for a half day event and I would highly recommend it.
