West River Camping

Beautiful and clean campground but left very disappointed. Throughout our stay we found the strictness on specific rules a bit much (one vehicle per site, one tent per site, $35 per fee because a dog “stepped foot” in our cabin but was staying on our second RV site for the weekend) but overall was fine and didn’t bother us. When we were checking out, my 84 year old grandmother (who had to leave her vehicle outside the gate next to the road unattended all weekend) got in her vehicle, and realized she forgot her phone in the trailer. It is pouring down rain and she didn’t have a $20 gate card on her so she pulled around the gate to meet us at the trailer to grab her phone. The owner ran out of the office chasing her vehicle. My father met them in the road saying she is with us and just forgot her phone. The owner didn’t acknowledge him at all and as soon as she put her car window down the owner started yelling at her about going around the gate, and how much the gate cost them to put up, and that she was driving way too fast because she couldn’t catch her (I witnessed this and she was not driving fast at all.. when you’re running in sandals and pouring rain 5km/hr running pace is faster than one might think). She went on to threaten her to never go around the gate again and didn’t give her one chance to talk or speak nicely at all. Totally ripped into her for an honest, no ill intent or harmful action. We were very respectful guests throughout the weekend. Sadly, there is no worry about any of us driving around or through that gate again. Absolutely no need to speak to people that way, we are very receptive and approachable people to discuss concerns with.

Weat River is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at, it is very clean and tidy, sites are large and staff are very friendly. Washrooms were very clean and well stocked. They are extremely receptive to pets, providing bags throughout the park in case you forget to take one with you.Will definitely be going back someday.Thank you West River

Amazing owners and amazing campground. Would love to return, worth every penny. Our favourite get away from our getaway was the Lobster Pot" aka hot tub heated by wood fire <3 Thank you for a great time!"

Beautiful campground with spacious camping spots. We stayed in our tent but saw the cool accommodations including cabins, camping domes, and a large boat converted into an accommodation space. Bathrooms were clean. Clean campsite all around. Staff and owners were helpful, kind, and willing to have conversation. Nice play areas for kids. Reasonable distance to Fundy National Park and its attractions. Prices are a little higher than Fundy Camping but seem to be comparable to other surrounding private campgrounds. We would be happy to stay there again!

Our friend recommended this campground as we were visiting the Bay of Fundy area... what a great suggestion! We stayed for 3 nights ( camper) and enjoyed every moment. Large clean sites complete with fire pits, personal touches all over. Well situated close to Fundy National Park and other attractions. Nice bathrooms and showers. We’ll definitely be back

Campground was very well laid out and was super clean. Sites were big and nice grass areas at the back sites. Great playground for kids. Very nice cabins to rent.

We stayed for 3 nights last week and it was fantastic. Owners are friendly and helpful. Park is very clean and the hot tub was pretty sweet! Best stay we had on our honeymoon! Dogs are welcome they just need to be on a leash. The play ground looked like fun although we don't have kids so we didn't use it. There is a beach 5 min down the road which was pretty empty while we were there. Plus it's 10 min to the Fundy Park with miles of trails to explore. Will be back!

We stayed in the raised dome for 2 nights. Our stay was excellent! Such a relaxing and charming stay. The area in and around the dome is very clean. The wood fired hottub is easy to use, heated to temperature quickly and is very private. The dome does not have AC but honestly does not need it. The owners were incredible -- I stopped in to ask where the closest store is as Id forgotten butter, she gave me some from their own kitchen!! Just about a 10 minute drive to fundy national park, where there are lots of fun activities for people of all ages. Overall the stay was lovely and we will certainly be back. I cannot overstate how much we recommend these domes to any couple looking for a refreshing get away.

Great stay in a quiet little campground. We stayed in the Lower Dome. It has a great private campsite feel to it, and the wood fired hot tub made the experience special. Very small issue - the shower head in the in unit shower couldn’t be pointed down so it was difficult to use a bit (but there are other showers of course). The public washrooms were clean and in good working order although just a tad chill in the morning (stayed in September). The little garden at the entrance had some very entertaining gnomes in it. All in all this was a great experience, and an amazing way to stay in the Fundy area. Spent our days hiking and paddling in Fundy NP just down the road and our evenings at the campfire. Just loved it!

We are just home from a terrific long weekend at West River camping. Let me just say it was a rough start with a cold and rainy forecast, poor navigation that put us on a terrible route and arriving only to learn the booking I thought I had made for June 2-5 was actually for Sept! Melissa was so friendly and so wonderfully accommodating. She was able to move the reservation up and put us on the same site we had originally chosen. The weather was indeed cold and very wet but Scott & Melissa were so very warm & welcoming, and their campground is so lovely and thoughtfully appointed that we still had a wonderful time. The hot tub was a delightful addition to our stay and I can't thank Melissa enough for making a special exception for us. Melissa and Scott went above & beyond to help us redeem our anniversary weekend getaway. The weather prevented us from checking out the local attractions but we plan to return, hopefully before the season is out. West River Camping is our new favorite campground.
