Recently purchased a 7 speed bakfiets.nl long cargo bike sight unseen from Andrew. He was very helpful answering questions up to the purchase and after the sale. Andrew arranged shipping and handled all paperwork associated with import to the States. The bike was purchased at a very reasonable cost and of high quality. A person in the market for a quality European bike can't go wrong by contacting Urkai. By the way, riding a Dutch style bike is something to experience, it's so much more comfortable and relaxing and the quality is incredible.

What an amazing concept! It's the only store around to carry a wide selection of Dutch & British brand bikes and accessories. Their bikes are beautiful and so comfortable to drive. They can even build you a custom one.Not only are Andrew & Kendra passionate about their bikes and the whole culture that surrounds it, they love to promote healthy living and safety driving through informative Free Clinics.It's truly worth the time to visit their store. The fun part is you could test drive any bike you want!If you are looking for a different biking experience I highly recommend Urkai.

I bought 2 bikes from this store four years ago. Since COVID began they have abandoned their original store front and moved to an appointment only model. This wouldn’t be such a bad thing if they answered the phone and actually got back to you. I now have to source rare bike parts from somewhere else.

We purchased a cargo bike (backfiets long) from Urkai. We are very satisfied customers and enthusiastically recommend Andrew and his team at Urkai.We live in Ottawa, so dealt with Andrew exclusively by email and phone. The customer service was excellent. We asked many questions and always received prompt and helpful replies - even though it was during the busy holiday season.Delivery was quick and professional and Andrew made sure to get us our bike in time for Christmas.After-purchase support has been outstanding too. Andrew has been just as responsive after purchase as he was before.

Urkai provides absolutely outstanding products and top notch customer service from start to finish. We bought our Bakfiets cargo trike almost 2 years ago, and have loved every second of owning it. Above and beyond the wonderful bike, the ongoing support from Urkai as our needs change (adding a cabriolet cover, then a car seat adaptor and helping us with further considerations for seating options into the future) has really defined our experience with them as an incredibly positive one.They're active members of the cycling community, wonderfully friendly people and they sell top notch bikes to boot. If you're looking for a two (or three) wheeled companion for the rest of your life, get yourself down to Urkai ASAP.

I have been very happy with the Urkai experience. I bought a Bakfiets cargo bike to haul around my 125lb Bernese & 25lb Ganaraskan dogs. They are happy and I am happy. Andrew sent an email offering an at house tune up for the season and it was great value. They are doing a warranty fix on it too. Overall a great experience and I recommend them for sales & service of these very cool bikes.

I am disappointed and sorry for posting this review since this seems to be a top rated bike shop. However, my experience was less than stellar when I have contacted them. I bought my bike at this shop in 2018. More recently, a part stopped working, a rear light. This is important to me since I ride in the night a lot due to my job and safety is paramount riding at those times. I called their shop and when there was no answer, followed their site instructions and texted them my issue and asked about how to replace it or if they carry the part- No answer! All I need is at least an acknowledgement you don’t have the part but I guess they are super busy. That’s ok too. I had to contact a US Dutch bike retailer who directed me to Curbside Cycle in Toronto who also carry Dutch makes and service Dutch bikes and have for many years. They responded within 24 hours. Where one door is closes, another opens. I wish them well, nonetheless.

I bought my Brompton at Urkai a few years ago. After many, many kilometres, it was time for a tuneup. I have the 6 speed. The 3 speed hub was perfect but I’d lost the ability to drop into the hardest gear. So I called Urkai and booked a time slot.Covid is still on at time of writing....Nathan greeted me right on time and took the bike in for a full service while I ran some errands. An hour later he called—said the bike was ready. He suggested I ride it to ensure satisfaction. I took it for a quick spin and the setup was perfect.Overall, great service, timing, and most importantly, the SKILL to get it right.Thank you Nathan!

Ordered a bike online from Edmonton, email correspondence was quick and attentive. Received our Bakfiets Long by freight. Worth the wait ,arrived in good condition.The cargo bike is an instant member of the family, and the car has taken a back seat!

I just purchased my second bike from Urkai at 678 Guelph Line. My first bike (which I rode for several years) was stolen a couple of weeks ago. They were super helpful. They built my bike to specifications right away. Luckily everything was in stock so I got exactly the bike I wanted, with all the accessories I had accumulated for my other bike. It's surprising how accustomed you become to having these little bells and whistles. I rode my bike home and LOVED every second of the ride. And of course I got the usual nice bike!" comments that I was used to getting when riding my first Urkai. Love my bike
