Ian, Janine and their staff are very personable easy going and knowledgeable people. They can answer any questions that you may have. They have an amazing selection of toys, foraging items, food and snacks for birds of all sizes. I recently had them babysit my bird and they gave her amazing care and their prices are very reasonable. I strongly recommend them for everything that I've listed above. You will not be disappointed.

Ian is a blessing to parrots in the Edmonton area with the wonderful charitable services he provides for them. He also managed to fix my green cheek's overgrown beak with more skill than even her avian vet. Thank you Ian!

Liked the store and what they had. Wanted to support them and not the big chain stores. Tried to call them and phone answering just went around in circles. Left a message and no one returned my call. We finally went in to store and filled out an application to adopt a bird. No one ever got back to us in any way. Frustrated, we gave up and went to a pet store. Might go back here for after care and unique bird supplies. We did try to support them though. My eight year old was sad over it.

Meika's is the absolute best. From their selection of stuff, to the friendly owners to their bird rescue that they've got going on to their helpful advice...it's fantastic. My daughter and i have been repeat customers since we got our lovebird and i wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Janine and Ian and all the staff at Meika’s are awesome! My partner and I shop here almost exclusively for toys and food for our birds, and my African Grey and Quaker just came back from their first “staycation” with them, happy and healthy. I love their assortment of affordable bulk foot toys that I use to make my own. They often have secondhand cages/carriers and unique homemade stands for sale as well. Of course, I can’t ever resist peeking in to visit with the birds in their care. One day when it’s the right time, I’d love to adopt a bird from them... it’s obvious even the birds that came from previous abuse and neglect get the best care at Meika’s and are granted a new lease on life. I love to support local business and this one is top notch!

I can't tell you how grateful I am to have a bird store like Meika's Birdhouse locally. The owners are amazing people who are passionate about bettering the lives of all birds, the work they do is incredible. I've trusted my flock to their excellent care for over 10 years now. Their store carries everything I need for my birds and lots for the wild ones outside too! I love this place.

When we are in Sherwood Park we make it a point to stop by and pick up something for my daughter's bird. They have a vast selection of bird toys, food, and feeders. The chickens in diapers are our favourite thing to visit there. The owner also has their birds, and well as adoptable birds that are sweet and engaging as long as you keep your hands to yourself. This store is a great addition to locally owned shops!
