Pacific Playgrounds Oceanside Resort

We love coming here every year! So many family friendly things to do. A cute little shop with ice cream, a swimming pool, a big field for games, a beautiful beach and river, kayaking and paddle board rentals, and fishing rod rental for the kids! We are also allowed to bring our dog, and stay in the parked campers. We also enjoy visiting Campbell River while here, and find something new everytime. This is certainly one of our favorite annual trips! Definitely recommend for families!

Stayed in Cabin 2 which was clean and well stocked. Not sure if the cabins have been renovated recently but was really impressed with how modern they are. 1 star off for the beds which were really uncomfortable. The mattress desperately needs to be replaced. Also, the website states one of the bedrooms has a queen bed however we believe it was more like a double. Despite that, we will return in the future.

Friend has a berth for his boat at this marina. Close to great salmon fishing areas. Campsites and small store on location. Good boat ramp for launching & retrieval. Boat trailer parking is at a premium during high season and no fuel is sold at the marina.

We rented an RV here for one night (site R32). We had a solid time overall. R32 is definitely the nicest spot!!! Hoping to provide some feedback to improve future guests experience.Pros: New, clean RV set apart in a way that made it feel private, nice landscaping and deck was perfect to relax on.Cons: The main thing we were missing was any sort of guidance on how to use all the features of the RV. For example, we couldn't figure out how to remove the stove top cover and as a result couldn't use it for our dinner. The office closed at 4 so we were left to put own devices. We also could have used stuff like an axe for chopping kindling or weenie roasting sticks.I would imagine most of the people renting an RV don't have one or have minimal experience, so a little how-to guide and additional small amenities would go a long way to making this a perfect experience.

We stayed here last weekend and we had the best time. We rented an RV and it was fully equipped for our stay. Dishes, towels, bedding shampoo, etc. Just like staying in a hotel but with a kitchen and fire pit! The pool was nice and being walking distance to Saratoga beach was amazing! We needed help with some things in the trailer and the staff were very quick to respond and take care of it for us. We have already booked again for next year!

I've never camped like this before but I was pleasantly surprised! Clean, well kept and maintained. Friendly, helpful staff, close to both the river and the ocean so the best of both worlds for island camping. It's an RV park but overall a great experience!!

We had a very peaceful, relaxing spur of the moment family getaway here.The cabin was lovely and cozy. Very clean and had basically everything one needs to accommodate their needs.We’re definitely looking forward to going back.A few things that would make it perfect were if the water pressure in the kitchen was better and if the beds weren’t so springy. We personally need a firmer mattress, not rock hard, but not soft either. I think most people fall into this category.I also think a privacy fence between the cabins would make it more private and intimate. Something that would give you privacy but not take away from the beautiful surroundings.Also stock the kitchen with tinfoil and Saran Wrap. There’s always the little things that make the difference.Anyway highly recommend this place for really any occasion.

We've been to RV resorts up and down the island and I have yet to stay at one as nice as this. Really reasonable rates for a beautiful location and wonderful amenities. The RV sites are tight together but not as bad as many I have been to in the Okanagan, for example. Infrastructure in the park is good. No bad septic smells, good water pressure, no power issues. The pool is great and is nice and deep (8'). Walking distance to several entrances to Saratoga Beach, and you can launch your boat, kayak, paddleboard etc right from the marina. They don't gouge on anything - laundry is cheap, the camp shop is well stocked and is really reasonable. There are quiet hours I'm sure but I'm not sure what they are because they don't patrol with a golf cart and flashlights if you're out around the fire at night as long as you're relatively quiet. 10/10 we would stay here again. You won't be disappointed.
