Great place to see photos of the cariboo

While I haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Chris’s gallery, I have had the pleasure of taking his Develop Your Creative Vision workshop – twice! The first time was his 6-day Bella Coola workshop in 2019, and the second, his 5-day workshop on Gabriola Island in September 2021. I was immediately attracted to Chris’s work when I came across his website in 2018: both his majestic landscapes and his fascinating impressionistic and abstract images. As I looked at his images I knew I wanted learn from him, and was overjoyed to discover that he taught multi-day workshops a few times a year. I immediately put down my deposit for the Bella Coola workshop the following summer, knowing it would be a life-changing experience for me.And it was! Chris is a photographic genius, using his camera to make art that is powerful, thought-provoking and unique. Even more than that, he is a most generous and encouraging teacher, sharing his knowledge freely and helping his students see more clearly and stretch beyond their comfort zone to make images they had never dreamed of before. My photography has improved by leaps and bounds thanks to what I’ve learned from Chris, and I look forward to continue learning from him as long as he continues teaching!

The Chris Harris Studio Gallery is an exceptional gallery with wonderful works of art, a contagious creative spirit, topped with warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

I have had the pleasure on several occasions to visit Chris’ gallery studio, a short few minutes off of the highway. Visiting the gallery is a must for locals and travelers alike, Chris is not only an amazing artist, but very approachable and a gracious host! The gallery offers an intimate space to view all of the amazing art work that Chris has to offer, and is one of the best art galleries I’ve seen. Best because of the rural relaxed setting, the sophisticated interior, lighting that perfectly illuminates the art, and an audio video section to see more of Chris’ work. I’ve had several discussions with Chris on his art and as I noted he is very approachable and well spoken. I’ve also attended one of his workshops and found it to be so worthwhile given his easy nature, strong knowledge on both photography and art in general, and his ability to educate effectively.
