The lady did good with the bottom half of my dress but brought the should straps up too high now I have to fix it myself and she didn’t get me to try it on

One of the best tailor in the town, I went there with my indian traditional dress to get some alterations done and was really upset because two other places in the town refused to work on my dress because it was really tough to do with the time period i gave them. But, the tailor at this place was so nice and knowledgeable about her Job not only she completed the task before time but also did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Gerds hemed up some drapes for me, they did an excellent job at a good price, I'll be a repeat customer.

I bought a wedding dress in Halifax, and I went to Gerd's for alterations. She made me feel that I bought the wrong dress. She wanted to remove the boning in the corset which would change the entire dress. I told her if she wasn’t able to handle my dress I’ll take it to Halifax. She proceeded to tell me that I would have a hard time getting anyone to do alterations in Halifax. She then told me that people from Halifax have been coming to her for alterations. I found that very hard to believe. I am coming back from Halifax. I just had a very successful alteration appointment with Alter Ego. I was treated respectfully, the tailor complimented my dress and how beautiful it was. I never felt bad about my dress, Gerd’s Tailor Shop made me feel as though I made the wrong dress choice. They also made me feel shameful about my body. Told me I should’ve worn a bra to the fitting. The bra is built into the dress! If you want your wedding dress altered, gerd’s is not the place to do it. They can handle bridesmaids dresses and putting in zippers, hemming etc. But I felt that she was overwhelmed and I felt very uncomfortable. I am so blessed to have found Alter Ego because they made me feel very special. The staff there handled my dress like a professional. So if you’re wondering what my issue was, this is it. I should never have felt sad or ashamed because I chose a particular dress. I’m so happy that I was treated respectfully at Alter Ego, I’ve made a friend for life! My wedding gown is going to look absolutely beautiful on my special day!
