Very disappointing and definitely would not recommend. Went to The Yellow Orchid for a trim and blonde highlights. Left the Yellow Orchid with choppy- multiple length hair, green/blue ends, and a big blotch of yellow in my bangs. I was so sad. During the appointment the dye was left on too long causing some burns on my scalp, and I was left sitting in the sink for a good 5-10 minutes since there was only one hair dresser working. It was so bad I went to a salon down the street immediately after and they could not believe how much she messed up my hair. They told me to go back and make her re-do it free of charge but when someone destroys your hair, how could you trust them enough for a second chance? Anyways wound up going to Sin 7 Salon and getting it fixed (Sin 7 Salon is amazing), they also could not believe how terrible the cut and colour was. In the Yellow Orchid's hair dressers defence, she said it was the best she could do, but the best she can do is incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and subpar. Would not recommend. Ever. Not only did I tell the Yellow Orchid hair dresser how much I didn't like it that very day, multiple times, when I went back later she would not give me the money back for the hair cut that left me in tears and embarrassed to go out. A professional salon would have never let me leave the salon looking like that, incredibly disappointing. The pictures below, in the hair dressers own words, was the best I could do"."

We were visiting from Victoria. My husband needed a haircut​really bad. Ruchika had just recently opened her beauty salon just arrived the corner from my son's place. Well Ruchika did an amazing job. That was the best haircut my husband ever had. This was a year ago . Since then my husband and I have not gone to another place. We live in Victoria but we always wait if we have to. Ruchika is a pleasant and prompt person. She knows her job well. So happy to see her whenever​I need service. Wish Ruchlka all the best.

ALRIGHT!! I am going to give a very fair review of Ruchika and might address some of the negative comments down below. First Ruchika is very honest and professional. She has very reasonable prices to accommodate ppl who don't want to spend too much money. Now with cheaper rates your expectations should be low. But she is very experienced and her approach is very good. She did her best for me and I actually saw her working on my hair. She spent a fair amount of time and didn't rush.Now from a business prospective, she is the only owner and sometimes the girls at her salon take sick days, and also she dont want to trust someone with her clients hence she might be working alone mostly. But imagine if more than 3 ppl book her on same day that's too much. She spent fairly 3 hrs on me and I was wondering how would she take another two clients(who kept calling her) before she has to go home to her kids. But she was very clear and said no to one client. Those saying she was overbooked then you should respect the fact that she IS overbooked and either wait for her schedule to free up or go to some other place (and then repent later).About going to other place and getting a opinion about her work is never gonna be sweet. Don't you know one salon hates other salon's work and will ALWAYS tell you how bad the other hairstylist did her job.I am a first time client and by her conversations have pretty good idea how she works and I really respect her.Anyways my experience was great! I had almost orangy hair I left her salon with pretty ashy color coz she really worked on my hair. I know she is offering a lot type of services but clients should respect her instead of getting mad at her.

Worst eyebrows experience! Doesn't communicate well with clients. I hate my ombre eyebrows done by her. Looking for someone else to fix it. It's ridiculous, no customer service and doesn't even do the job properly. Do not recommend!

Purchased a Group On with this Salon and had a bad experience. Could barely get an appointment. Said she was busy and booked out but that was complete lies. Her appointment book and Salon were both empty when I went on to make an appointment. Showed up for my appointment to the Salon closed called and finnally got an answer to say she was sick and had no appointments for today but I met a lady outside who was having the same issue and she told her shewas completey booked out for today. She is hopeless and unprofessional. I think she is scamming people out of money through groupon. I would not recommend her.

I noticed this new salon walking along Marine Dr.. I was a little hesitant to try a new stylist but figured I would give her a go. Best idea ever! Ruchika (the owner) is amazing.. Asks a lot of questions about how she's doing, very friendly, didn't feel rushed (as I find I do at some salons) and the hair cut is great as well (inexpensive as well $45 for shampoo, cut and style).. I will be going back for sure! I highly recommend Yellow Orchid :)

I've been here a few times now for waxing services and always come away very happy. She does an amazing job, very quick and painless. Pricing is great and being scheduled in never seems to be an issue. This is definitely my go to waxing salon now!

My daughter got keratin treatment done from this saloon we had a very good experience. Her big frizzy hair became very smooth and flawless. Im well satisfied definitely going back.

I just had my third visit to the Yellow Orchid salon. Such great service. Waxing is quick and nearly painless! I was in and out in an hour and had so many different services done! She does an amazing job! And the prices are so reasonable. She does the same service as the expensive places for a quarter of the price. It's quick, comfortable and affordable. Highly recommend!

I absolutely recommend yellow orchid spa! She is so kind and friendly and does a very good job with all her services. I have been coming here for over a year now to get my waxing, hair, nails, eyebrows done! She offers very good services with very good prices and is extremely talented! She is also very accommodating and will try to fit me in whenever possible. I wouldn't go anywhere else.Katie
