Been working with them for 9 years. Amazing, empathetic and non-judgmental therapists. With their help, I have been sober over 8 years and cannabis free for almost 4 months. Still some work to do and they are patient. Go to the Health and Hope 2 group each week which helps support persons with conncurent disorders. Completed their Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills group a few years ago and gained some valuable skills. Recommend it for anyone with mental health and addiction issues. The skills will help change your life. I have been blessed with all the staff I have been fortunate enough to work with. So grateful for this place that has helped and is currently helping me change my life in a positive way. Thank-you so much!!!!!

After a brisk and uncaring intake I was paired with counselor Kathleen who was younger than my daughter. Her education was the same as mine with some other courses (not another degree i.e. B.S.W.). Her first Interaction with me was to chide me for leaving a text on her phone after 4:30....The end of her work day. This by the way was a mistake on my part when adding her as a contact and this comment of hers shows her seeming lack of interest in the job or helping people or both. She has the new don't bother me with your life " (or your problems) brand of counselling. She made a visible turning of her head to one side and a facial expression that said don't bother me with my attempts to engage her and motivate her to help or listen to me She shows a lack of motivation and empathy for one that chose a helping profession. I would avoid ADAPT and especially her and solve your problem yourself or go to your doctor ad nauseam. She has no life experience and never told me a thing I didn't know. It wasn't like taking advice from my daughter -at least she has empathy and listens. I think that people in social services that don't want to make the effort should get out. The new brand of counselling is equal to you looking at a brick wall except it's a human but uncaring face that does not want to hear what you have to say."

Been seeing my counsellor at ADAPT for a few years now. Was almost on a daily basis for visits but they helped me in so many ways it’s now just a routine check in every so often with my one-on-one counsellor. I went through tons of different counsellors before I met Andrew at ADAPT. Mainly on account no one I saw seemed to care or understand my situation at all. If you don’t understand I didn’t want your help! Period! After my first assessment here I knew I finally found the right place. Totally got where i was coming from. Honestly coming here was the beginning of the best thing I could’v ever done for myself and my loved ones. He actually understood me and listened. He never tried to jam “what he think i should do” down my throat. Just offered some guidance on anything you needed and wanted guidance on. Also completely non-judgmental toward any given situation. If you’re struggling with addiction I highly recommend calling them. Didn’t think it was possible but he helped change my life. Literally!
