Grey Gables B & B

Jim Hevenor is a great host. Accommodation weren't excellent and the breakfast was a 5 star +++.

My family has been going here every year since I can remember due to a family reunion held in the town. I've known the owner and the house my whole life, and this is a gorgeous stay with a great host. Jim knows the towns history very well and makes an amazing breakfast with yogurt, fruit, eggs, toast, meats, as well as juice, tea, and coffee. He also made additions to the historic house in the last ten years to provide more rooms and comfort for guests, and the wifi works! I could not rate this stay high enough.

There aren't many places to stay in Port Burwell, but Jim is very accomodating and the rooms are clean and more spacious than I expected. It's quirky and cottage-like just like the town itself, so don't expect it to be modern. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel because we were out all day with friends, but we were left more than enough towels, the shower was equipped with some toiletries and the fridge was stocked with granola bars, pudding and juice boxes. I would have preferred just bottles of water instead, but the items were an unexpected surprise and we appreciated the gesture regardless. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town.

Such a wonderful stay! The rooms are well kept and cozy. breakfast was good too. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming.

Clean, easy to park and explore. Very close to shore and submarine! Knowledgeable host!

This is a great place, the best b&b ever. The atmosphere is so familiar, the breakfast is excellent and Jim is a very pleasant person to be around.

We recently came for an overnight trip ( family reunion ) and were very impressed with everything ! Jim made everything so seamless ; thank you Jim :) The location is just a short hop and skip to the beach, and we had a great evening across the road at Izzy's Restaurant and then on to the variety store for some Shaw's (locally made ) ice cream. Grey Gables is a very historic building; our room had great antiques as well as a mini fridge ( bonus ! ), kettle for tea and coffee maker with coffee, tea, and goodies in the fridge for breakfast . Everything was clean as a whistle and there were even books to read and for me, a bit of nostalgia, a VCR with movies! The bathroom sported a really great clawfoot tub/shower, and even the towel rails were antique. No details are overlooked here..clean, cozy, super location, spiffy antiques and a wonderful host..who could ask for anything more ??

My husband and I come to stay here every year. It's so cozy and Jim the host is awesome and makes one tasty breakfast.
