An amazing place for a peaceful trek any time of the day. The entrance to the trail is beyond the GM headquarters building. At the roundabout there is a road to the right which goes down to the reserve. There is parking at the end of the road. The natural beauty is mesmerizing. You hear the wonderful musical sounds of birds all along. We saw atleast 4 different trails which take you in different directions. Just choose any path and enjoy the natural beauty. The waterfront trail takes you down to the lake. Enjoy the waves crash at your feet, while you rest on the pebbled shore.

A pretty little spot, in an odd location. Easy to walk through, nothing challenging. In the summer there are some friendly birds that will land on you if you put out your arms.

This place is very beautiful. Will come here again. The trails leading to the waterfront are lined by flowering trees and have many species of birds. Very lovelyMany people go the beach but this is hidden gem.

Our first time here! We were looking for a place to snowshoe, and glad we stumbled upon this reserve. We are already planning for our next visit, and will visit in the summer as well

One of a hidden beach visited. Need to have a walk after parking our car. Need guidance for ofcourse to reach the destination. But, the walk is worth to have a spectacular view and feeling. Its better to be there by evening and spend time even after the sunset. A campfire, the tidal sound makes you feel relaxed. The picture is not much clear but i cam guarantee your satisfaction.

Summer or Winter, it's a gorgeous place to visit. It is in the city of Oshawa, near the waterfront. Getting off at Harmony is the best choice off the 401 highway. The walking paths and terrain are not difficult nor have a lot of alterations in grade, basically are flat, so not a difficult walk or hike. It's a great place though for scenery variation, there is forest, marsh and beach shoreline.Spring and Fall, the birds are plentiful. There are beautiful blossom and flowering bushes like rose hip, dogwood, etc. There is quite an expanse of the shoreline of Lake Ontario to walk along, a small rock layered beach, lots of beautiful drift wood pieces. It's worth the visit!

The McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve is a peaceful place to stop for a hike through the marsh (I suggest boots or even better rain boots) note this is a marsh area so there is mud and some bugs but worth it for the natural reserve. The wild life is active here and best caught first thing in the morning in my opinion. Great spot for photographers for natural landscapes sunrises.Ive been lucky enough to catch the morning fog/dew and it is stunning. Please note driveway/path is bumpy but there is free parking at the end. There are no garbage bins due to wildlife I assume so please be mindful of that when visiting this spot. There is a Johnny on the spot here and map of the trials

Last weekend I had a nice hike (about two and half hours) with my family in here. I parked my car at the GM lot and walked along the shore all the to the Darlington Provincial Park beside it. The trail was so quite and I barely saw other hikers. There were too much green seaweed in the water of Lake Ontario, but it did not brother me too much as I was not here for swimming. The ev charging station in the parking lot was not working that day, and I guess an employee or membership card was required for initiate the charging.
