In short, I knew that this is not a real hotel, but a student residence that rents rooms to public in the summer. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was positively surprised that the room was clean and didn’t look dated. There were few cons that I mention bellow, but I think that overall the price is adequate for what it offers and I would come again if I need 2 rooms again. This was the cheapest and most decent option in a good location I could find in Toronto for 3 nights. They will give you a key and 2 cards. The cards have two purposes: to activate the power in your room and to get into the building after 8pm. It doesn’t open the room like in other hotels. The door on the apartment is locked by a physical key.Pros:- good location - close to Union station and right next to historical Distillery district- overall clean room and bathroom- kitchen and big fridge in the apartment- two separate rooms within one apartmentCons:- window blinds let in too much light- no bedside lamp- one of our towel had weird smell- no room service

Stayed here for a concert at SBA, front desk lady/check out dude were absolutely fantastic. Room was clean and had a lovely view of Toronto. Will stay here again the next time in Toronto! Thank you.

A pleasant surprise! I'll admit I booked the room with mild trepidation but the place was quiet, spotlessly clean and had some really nice restaurants in walking distance. The nearby park was a delight the following morning full of dog walkers. The area has a lot of construction at the moment so I think it will only improve over the years. Check in team were great too. Would definitely stay in again.

Not a complete dive but close. The fridge and microwave are nice but fairly useless as there are no cups, dishes, coffee maker, cutlery...NOTHING.There is a dead moth in light fixtures, dirty walls, gross bedding. The bed itself was comfortable. Air conditioning sort of works but not well.Noisy outside with construction. Polite staff except for one man/boysplainer who tried to explain to me how to lock a door! Of course he was wrong and the lock was broken. We had to change rooms.Bathroom is tiny. These are dorms for students during academic year. Price is cheap and on a direct line into old Toronto.A coffee shop right downstairs and a few steps away. Also close to Distillery district with some nice restaurants. All in all a pretty good deal but I would think they could upgrade a bit with a good scrubdown, invest in hotel quality bedding, offer a few dishes. Also better towels and would have been nice to have a face cloth. One gets the feeling of a slum landlord extracting the most and providing precious little.Would be unlikely to stay again.

To put it simply, never again. I urge you to read some of the harsher reviews about this place before making a reservation. My own experiences perfectly match those criticisms. The room wasn't very clean, and although there was a microwave, there were no cooking tools provided. The beds were extremely hard, and the bedding was even worse than what you'd find in a hospital. The locks on the room were tricky to use, and there were these magnetic plates that blocked them, which nobody bothered to explain to me. Both keycards I received didn't work, and the physical key was so poorly made that I ended up being locked out of my room for 15 minutes, struggling to open the door. When I called for help, nobody paid attention to my pleas.Furthermore, there was a major problem with the air conditioning. It just didn't work properly, and I couldn't lower the temperature below 24 degrees Celsius so I spent the night sweating. In the morning, when I tried to check out early to catch my bus to Barrie, there was nobody at the front desk. The security guards were of no assistance and even treated me disrespectfully, as if where asking the world of them to be responsible for the property. The only good things about this place were its location and the relatively low price for a last-minute booking. However, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Spending an extra $50 per night somewhere else would be well worth it.

First time in Toronto, last time at these residences. Water pressure was nonexistent, shower was only big enough to fit a child, rooms were dirty, no room service at all and you only get room cleanings if you stay for more than 3 days. Happy I only spent the mornings and nights at this place. Only saving grace is the location, as it’s a quick 15 min ride on a street car to downtown. Wouldn’t recommend.

I gave a 1 star for the room because the water pressure in the shower is beyond horrible. This is the only downside I experience staying here and it pretty much killed my overall stay. The water pressure in the shower is so bad, there is no way to properly wash yourself. I have stayed in many hotels and this hotel takes the #1 spot for horrible shower experience. To top it off, the hotel has no blow dryer so good thing my son and I have short hair.

Booked this because it had two separate rooms (husband is a snorer), I knew not to expect much, but still was disappointed - it's a good thing we didn't spend a lot of time there, because it was not worth the price paid (most res rentals are half the price). We had lots to do on our visit, and the room helped ensure we didn't stay there much, which I guess is a silver lining. It didn't ruin our trip or anything, but I can't say I'd stay here again, for a number of reasons. The check in staff either didn't understand or didn't know how to communicate how the locks work - and the cards worked so inconsistently it was frustrating. You have to insert a card into a receptacle on the wall to get power to parts of the room. The room was not in a very good state: the shower was massively clogged and had very low pressure; the bathroom sink came out in a trickle; the toilet leaked when you flushed it; there's a thermostat, but you have no ability to control the heat or AC; no batteries in the TV remote; beds are extremely uncomfortable (I've slept on more comfortable beds in the barracks when I was in the army).Because it's a university residence, the building entrance doors are locked from 8 pm - 6 am. Or so they say. Most of the time they were still unlocked at 10 pm and later. The parking garage is not accessible at all: there's an elevator, but it doesn't work - the only way to access the garage is via stairs outside the building. If you have any accessibility issues, well, you're just screwed. Or you can figure out how to deal with the 3-hour-maximum street parking - no one on staff will care or be able to help you.The location is the only thing that saved it from being a 1 star. While not right downtown, it's close enough for a quick trolley or cab ride.

Our room was clean, front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were fine for one night. And the location is great, would stay here again

Very clean and great space to stay in Toronto! The only thing I would say about the rooms is the lack of air conditioning. It was pretty warm in our unit and I don’t think there was a way to increase the AC
