Abkhazi Garden

Abkhazi is Vancouver Island's secret garden. It is an absolutely beautiful garden that boasts huge old rhododendrons that are artfully placed throughout. Granite outcroppings dictate the shape of the surrounding garden beds. It is the jewel of the island. An added bonus is the quaint tea shop that serves high tea in China cups. There's no entrance fee, but they appreciate donations.

Wonderful intimate garden with a fantastic history of enduring love. One can walk through and feel enveloped in this garden especially in the lower section which is surrounded by magnolia trees. There is a water feature in the middle and a main house where high tea is served.

Interesting garden, albeit small. The volunteers there are very friendly and approachable. Highly recommend. If you're aficiendo then I wouldn't recommend the tea house.

Great place for a traditional afternoon tea. Beautiful gardens and fun love story behind the creation of the garden :-)

We went here for my birthday to experience the high tea, I reserved ahead of time and we got a beautiful seat by the window with a view.The food was delicious and the tea perfect! If you go to the tea house I highly recommend the Royal Abkhazi High Tea! It consists of 4 courses and the herbal tea I had was Angelwater.The Gardens were stunning! With beautiful assortments of flowers and alot of history the volunteers told us so much about this beautiful place.I highly recommend checking out this place, the food is amazing and the gardens (especially at this time of year) are beautiful and blooming.

There are several categories that make up any sort of place like this.Ambiance - The atmosphere in the Tea House was quite like many others described in their reviews — in a word, peaceful. For those who like a calm environment, this is a wonderful place.Food - some of the snacks tasted no different than those that could be bought at a local grocery store. If they were all made in-house, then that is disappointing.Tea - The Philosophers Tea tasted awful. I could brew the Jasmine Tea better at home.Service - There were no issues regarding service. Our waitress brought everything we asked for and was prompt when doing so.Overall value for the money - Based on being charged $28 per person, this place definitely did not meet the upscale experience I expected.

I had a great time at Abkhazi Gardens for High Tea. The garden is beautiful right now and was not busy. The Tea Room had good food and lots of tea options. The only thing I didn't like was the Tea room was a little loud.

Lovely one acre garden, tucked away in a residential neighborhood.11 a.m. - 5 p.m. No entrance fee, but donations encouraged. Parking on the street.Volunteers greet you and answer questions in the garden.Tea House in the former home. Lucked out for an opening for afternoon tea, but reservations encouraged. $55 per person. There is also a four course tea, elevenses, and a few extra add-ons available. The three course afternoon tea with a pot of tea of your choice is $54. Very tasty and beautifully presented.Friendly service, lovely setting. Be warned there are lots of annoying wasps on the terrace that swarm the tea tray even with a napkin draped over the tiers. There is indoor seating available as well.Restroom/washroom inside by hostess stand and next to the gift store.

Absolutely stunning Garden in an extremely gorgeous area.There’s a lot of great stories and history behind it. It’s maintained by volunteers which is incredible.Also, FREE of charge! They welcome donations to keep this beautiful garden healthy and maintained. Oh such a cool little spot tucked up on the hill in a rich neighborhood. These gardens are so pleasant to walk around and enjoy some manicured garden space. So many great little paths to cruise through this gorgeous outdoor space. I will have to return to try out the Cafe. It seems like a dreamy spot to have some snacks and lookout over the garden space. Would recommend coming to check this out.
