Long time customer here--who will no longer be going back.I've watched the tone of this place from one of being friendly and welcoming to gets an neighbours to one of being increasingly insular and hostile to patrons.You used to be able to freely walk to the bakery next door, but they decided to wall this off years back. You used to be able to use the internet freely while you eat. No longer. You used to be able to buy a pastry at the bakery next door, come to Fantastico, buy a coffee and some food, and sit down and enjoy it all together. No longer.Last time I did this, a man working there zero'd in on the fact that I had a box with a sausage roll in it sitting next to my coffee. The box was sitting behind my backpack, closed, as I was bringing the sausage roll home with me. I wasn't eating it.The man stood on his tippy toes so he could see over my backpack in an attempt to identify the box. He then walked awkwardly to the other side of the room to see it from another angle. Then, he finally approached my table and rudely told us that we were not allowed any outside" food in the establishment. I told him that I had bought it for later and it was just sitting there with the rest of my stuff

I've actually frequented this spot, and unfortunately, due to a new barista that works there, I'm not sure I will be returning.I witnessed some appalling behaviour as I waited for the rest of my party to arrive, to which I chose to take us next door instead.Last night I found they also work at the quadra st location and I was hoping to stop in, though I now do not feel comfortable going there either.If management would like further details, I would be happy to share .Fantasia has always been a safety net of a cafe for me. This has been beyond disheartening.

Barista was emotionless, cold and seemed uncaring. I ordered coffees and 2 breakfast buns too go, it wasn't busy and it took 22 minutes... Not once did the barista person acknowledge me waiting, say anything or even make any eye contact. Disappointing considering I left a tip and my bill was over $30. Terrible service. The food was tasty and warm at least.

I've been coming here for a while, I come, drink coffee, have a meal. I come because I like the setting and staff, but recently I was there using the internet, like I do, and someone who o believe was the owner was giving stink eye. It went on and on, I felt totally uncomfortable. I asked a staff member and they confirmed that it was an owner. It turns out the owners as re actively taking steps to keep people from comfortable using the internet. I bet a spend 40 bucks a week here but after the looks, a change in internet speed, and a forceboot offline I'll be looking for a new place. It's to bad that the no owner have a stick up their ....Edit, went back and they removed a power bar that people used to connect, watched the manager kick someone of for using the internet for too long.

I gave the second star because the coffee and muffins are delicious and the location is great. However, as a regular customer I’ve decided to not come back. The baristas are so cold and unfriendly. You feel as if you are doing them a disservice when ordering something… There was a new barista with short hair that was super friendly but it seems that she has now been contaminated with the negativity of the staff there. The last straw was when a blonde barista with a nose ring forgot my order and let about 5 customers get ahead of me. When I reminded her, she proceeded to make my order and gave it to me without apologizing or a smile. Not worth coming back. Bad vibes!

Great place to stop, enjoy the views, and get a cup of coffee in Vic West. We stopped for a little more at their deli where we got a meat and cheese plate and a couple of beers. The meat and cheese plate was just ok and could have been a little larger for the price.

Fun stop if you are on that side of the city! Plenty of seating and coffee. Only downside is that you may no longer eat outside food there, so no stopping at the bakery and then enjoying it with their coffee

Great cafe and deli, with a good location and friendly staff. I enjoyed my Breakfast Platter, and they make a smooth, strong Americano. Try to nab a table before placing your order, as by the time you do so there may be nowhere to sit (especially on cold/wet days).As I was sitting near the coffee bar I also did notice that there seemed to be quite a few instances of customers (usually retirees, I am hesitant to say) getting quite impatient with the wait time for drinks. My advice is prepare to be patient when waiting to order your drink and then waiting to pick it up. A café with as small a bar as this and as popular as it is will oftentimes be a test of your ability to wait, especially when ordering anything more than a drip coffee.I will be definitely returning here to try out their more substantial Deli offerings. The food looked delicious and seemed to be surprisingly good value.Overall a staple of the Victoria coffee scene.

Friends of ours live within walking distance of this place so they took us here.Hubby got the porchetta sandwich which he said was divine - 2 of us got the breakfast sandwich which was really good.Coffee was excellent.I notice that they have frozen dinners ready to go plus a small deli section which I didn't explore.Such a great place to have close by - right on the Galloping Goose trail!
