Marianopolis College

Had a wonderful experience here as a student.I am sad to see people complaining about mental health issues in other comments. IMHO people should understand that ultimately they are the one responsible for their own mental health. You will meet a lot of smart people here (and much much more in university) and it is normal to feel stressed and you need to adapt. Please seek professional support / reduce your course load / have realistic expectation if needed.And for the ones complaining about food. Go pack your own lunch or enjoy a lunch at a nearby restaurant FFS. This school isn't for you.

I would give this college a score of 0 if I could. We students used to be allowed to choose our own schedules and teachers. However, they chose this semester to handle it for us, so if you're lucky and have a nice schedule, there's no need to complain. I commute about an hour to this school, and four out of five days I would start my classes at 8 a.m. and end at 6 p.m., which is as early and late as you can go. That would be perfectly acceptable if they let me change it, but the person in charge would not permit it. There is a "schedule change option on Omnivox

As a current student, I want to let all the people who would like to attend here to know the TRUTH. All the positive comments are either from parents that doesn’t care about their children’s mental health, or school staff. This is the worst college in whole Quebec, you pay thousands of dollar and the school doesn’t even care about student’s campus life. The locker area is crowded, cafeteria are expensive and disgusting, many teachers are rude and unprofessional. The school only wants your money. For future students who would like to apply here, please go to Dawson Vanier, or Abbott, they have better campus life, almost NO tuition, and the teachers there are more professional and actual cares about their students. This school is the most overrated college in Montreal.

This college is good for people who aim at succeeding. It treats students as adults and gives them the tools to succeed. Success is admired and respected. For students who prefer to have a social/ less driven experience, the school can seem bad because of misaligned priorities between the school and the student. That said, the competition is not dirty, it is an honest system and your success depends on you, it is like an honest contract between the school and the student.

Definitely not worth the tuition. Someone ik got morphed into a working-machine and developed terrible mental habits cuz of how they do not allow students to select the number of courses they wish to have for a particular semester. One of the security personnel was self-aggrandizing that when a friend of a student at Marianopolis advised security that he will leave the premises (since he wasn't aware that even the school was open, he was still not allowed to get in), security not only still asked him for a piece of ID but interrogated him for 5-10 mins because he felt like it". It was also the friend's first time he got that kind of warning in that regard."

The cafeteria cashier Niousha H. takes unprofessional to a whole other level. She is always moody and rude. She refuses to be of any help. And she is always on FaceTime while working, with no professionalism whatsoever.Such a poor reflection on the CEGEP and hopefully this problem will be addressed. soon.On the other hand the lady that works in the cafe with short blonde hair deserves a raise. She is amazing.

Expensive in every aspect. Cafeteria is extremely expensive. You’ll pay at least 10-12$ for unhealthy (fats and carbs) food. Teachers are sometimes are good, sometimes just terrible. Campus is very small, not easy to access.

I had a good experience in this CÉGEP. It prepared me well for university. It is quite focused on academic achievement, so yes competitive but not in an unhealthy way, but it's definitely not for everyone. Basically you will be surrounded by budding geniuses. Back then I went for open house visit and made my own choice to go there, did not regret it. Would recommend to tour the place, talk to a few alumni before making the decision.

Students do everything but study in and outside of school. Everyone is social, lots of parties, bar, clubs going on but just nobody study. I love the dance show and dating show

Being at Marianopolis, I can say that I have made the correct choice. Classmates are very open to talk to strangers and it is easy to make friends if you go up to people. The school is also very clean with the exception of some cafeteria tables due to some students (though surprisingly rare). The cafeteria is recently renovated and gives a great atmosphere. Only downside to it is the food is very expensive (though most CEGEP cafeteria food is as expensive anyways). Many different lounges all with their unique aspects and people (student lounge with a piano, back of the student lounge, C100 and other smaller rooms). Teachers in general are good at teaching with some notable exceptions from time to time, but they are much more casual and less strict than I would expect. Beware that the R-score at this CEGEP is calculated based off everyone taking the same class regardless of which teacher you have taken, leading to many choosing teachers who are lenient graders instead of good teachers. In the end, I don't feel the competitive vibe people talked about and have received a lot of support from my classmates in order to succeed. I would greatly recommend Marianopolis for anyone who is open-minded.
