Ambience were excellent. Staff were friendly and accommodating and she offered a perfect place for us in the restaurant. Prices was reasonable. But the food was average on that day. It might be something to do with the oil they used in frying because we can taste the used oil in the fries, fish and burger.

Fantastic Lil gem! My husband and I are in the area for a few days, and took the opportunity to enjoy the historic atmosphere at the Ports! We both had the steak cheese melt...YUMMY!!!! Cheers Larry and staff!

We went to the Portsmouth Tavern for a late lunch after going on the Kingston Pen Tour. The history of the Portsmouth is worth looking into and the food was really good ... highly recommend this place

Ordered the burger and fries...asked for fries well done and it it was! Beer was cold too. Well looked after with two looking after us. All good!

What a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall! Came here recently after hearing some good things about them, and wow, I wish I'd come sooner! As someone whose always preferred the more low-key, local-friendly, intimate atmosphere of pubs, I always make it a point, whatever city I wind up living in, to find 'that place' that's going to become a regular spot for me to take family and friends. And I think the Portsmouth is it. Service was excellent. That's always a huge plus in my books, and this place really seemed to spare no effort in making my party and I feel welcome and attended. Food was fantastic!! Fairly typical pub-style, but everything was so well made. Was a little bummed that they didn't have the beef dip, which was the dish that I was really psyched for, but hey, just gives me an excuse to come back, doesn't it? Everything was prepared very well, very nice portions, and very fresh. The atmosphere was super charming, and really, I just love places like this. Top marks all around folks. See ya again real soon!

A tad on the pricey side, atmosphere felt like it was more mature setting older people mid late 30s to 60s. Daily specials are good and would highly recommend the steak and cheese if you got some extra money to spend.

Wow! Amazing place. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We wanted to change something in our burger and they did it immediately. We tried their famous PKBurger and fish-n-fries/chips. Both were superb, delicious, mouthwatering and great. I highly recommend this place.Update (Aug. 2022): we went there with my parents. I tried Mushrooms Mozza and it was great. My parents loved its environment and the gentleman who worked there.

Large open spaced Tavern/Pub with parking. Everyone enjoyed their lunches and the fries here are like chip truck fries. The KP burger being particularly delicious. They have many diff beers on tap or by the bottle. Friendly staff, I think the manager may have personally checked in on us. Would recommend for casual good time.

Great location by the water.Laid back atmosphere. It's been there since 1863.Daily specials.People who work there are really good and friendly.
