Gibson Custom Homes

From the beginning of our project we have had nothing but problems…they lie and do not do the job correctly, they point fingers and blame others for their errors. They completely lack any sense of coordination and as a result we have experienced lengthy delays and huge additional costs. Today we are over a year late in completing my home…and it’s still not done…we decided to work with a fixed price, fixed timeline contract called a ccdc2. This was to ensure the home was built by a certain date and for an agreed amount….needless to say they have totally disregarded their responsibility as a builder under this contract and I now have had to engage lawyers to get it done and claim for damages…We are now in the midst of a heat wave and the daily internal temp of my house reaches 37c and they still have not made commissioning my AC a priority….if you are lucky to get a hold of Darcy you get excuses or vague responses as to when things will get done.. I recommend you look for a different builder at all costs

The team at Gibson Contracting does an amazing job at producing some of the best quality work in the Okanagan Valley. They have a great team and I can't say enough good things about them. Our build of a new home with Gibson Contracting has been such a fun and great experience.   Building a home can be overwhelming, but with the guidance and direction from all Gibson’s staff, the experience was very positive.  From day 1, with Jen helping us find a great lot and supporting our custom design, Colin as our PM (you ‘rocked it), Brandon as site manager and with support of Austin and Pablo, we had every question and request addressed and resolved.  Naleesa put up with our endless money questions and even Darcy Gibson stepped in when necessary!! We were in our new home in 9 months after breaking ground.  Pretty good for a walkout build with a pool!Even during a pandemic, with the foresight and planning by us as homeowners and the support of many great subcontractors, we pulled off this ‘new home’ feat! Gibson referred many great sub trades and a few worth mentioning … We love our Westwood cabinets (thanks Kati and Kevin), and everyone at Okanagan Electric (thanks to Austin, Gord, Rob, and Landon) were very responsive, living up to the high bar of the retired electrician in the house. Picture Perfect, Selena and her crew worked very hard. Love our ‘pool’ by Sunshine Pools. Avalanche Exteriors and Efficient Heating stepped up and showed up. I have dealt with Gibson! Darcy if the rudest person ive so far met that owns a business!! They hire the lowest and not experienced guys, but present themselves as a high end Builder!?Every project has a different company for the same trade, i can guarantee companies out of town will not guarantee their quality for longer then when the last paycheck clears!Trades are constantly complaining that they get pushed around, funds withheld for reasons that the managers are responsible for!The worse, when its their fault on a projects, that sneak in the extra charge for another client that might not catch the extras! I called them all out, and when i called the trade, they assured me they were told do invoice on the next project"... wow"

I have dealt with the team at Gibson for years now as a trade supplier and I see how they interact with their clients, treat their trades and go the extra mile to deliver a quality finished product. I can confidently recommend them to anyone who asks. When you hear from the people who work with your builder and they are all happy, that says something. Always positive remarks and stories, many repeat customers, and they are a pleasure to deal with.
