Please stay away from this company. They take advantage of you being stressed of losing your loved one, make lots of promises but are not capable to keep them. My case was not complex but they managed to probation forms wrong. I was stupid enough to give them a second change to do an estate tax, which despite the promises was another failure. I ended up cancelling the tax engagement and doing estate tax myself 2 days before the deadline. Still trying to get refund as no product or service was provided. So far no luck.This is the summary of my experience with ClearEstate:Communication• other that initial meeting everything goes through chat in the platform. Some advisors take weeks to respond.• I was not allowed to communicate directly to the estate tax accountant during the tax preparation which complicated and delayed communication.Platform (flashy but half baked)• Categories for assets do not match the reality (I have reported that a year ago but there is still no correction)• On tax section there is no ability to add RRSP with beneficiary outside of the estate which makes tax tracking section useless• Chat is very primitive. No spellcheck or formatting. No reply to specific message. With chat being the only way to communicate this makes conversation very difficult.Knowledge and expertise• So called Estate specialists keep changing and have questionable expertise. I had four during my engagement.• My probate application documents were filled incorrectly with multiple mistakes and submission was rejected due to missing information. That caused me loss of trust from other beneficiaries. I had to escalate and demand lawyer review (that supposed to me part of the engagement) before submitting again.Estate tax• At the initial consultation the accountant failed to provide an advice to the assets disposition to defer high estate tax• There was no questionnaire, template or guided vizard to provide requirements to the client of what information/reports/tax slips or other documents required based on assets• I provided all documents and slips by end of Mach. My request to provide tax file for review by April10th (in case of corrections and need for additional documents) was ignored and no completion date was provided• After multiple reminders and follow ups, with 3 business days left to the deadline I finally received the tax submission form to sign. There was no review or my agreement with the amounts listed.• The information in T1 had multiple errors and there was no effort from accountant to connect with me and walk through the tax file and explain where the amounts came from.

I have to say this company does not care to get back to you . I message them on the chat and there’s been times I’ve waited 3-4 weeks for a response. Also it has been 8 months and nothing has been sent to the courts for probate yet .

In the initial consultation, John Farrell was easy to talk to and took a brief assessment of what my situation is and has made it seem like it will be no problem at all getting this estate settled. I am looking forward to seeing if that is going to be the case. So far in the process on my own I have not gotten the same answer from any 2 people and it has been very frustrating.
