I contacted this organization a while ago about a spay a neuter clinic since I had taken in a stray. The owner (Niko) immediately shamed me for how they felt I was taking care of this cat. I've been involved with rescues and fostering for years. I will never deal with this organization and I tell people looking to adopt cats to look elsewhere. I have spoken to many people in the community who were very put off by the owner's attitude.

I am sharing my experience as a volunteer foster and an adopter.I started fostering with CAT two years ago as I had the time and space during the start of the pandamic. I thought it would be a fun thing to keep me busy since I had so much free time. I had such a great experience and learned so much that I have continued fostering even being back to work. We treat the fosters as if they are our own cats. If medical concerns arises, the rescue coordinator is notified and it is dealt with accordingly. Thousands of dollars are spent on some of these cats medical cost and adoption fees don't recoup these cost. I've seen the hard work volunteers do to fundraise for these beautiful felines to help them have a better life. Cats are not filtered through quickly. I've foster some cats for months to ensure they are healthy and most importantly ready to go to their forever home!!I adopted my youngest kitty through CAT and the process was a breeze. I recieved all his medical information and he was already microchipped. There is also and an active adopter facebook group that allows adopters to share pictures and ask questions or for advice that I like. I am forever thankful that CAT brought my little guy into my life!

Sold through Petsmart, the rescue was aware that “Aiyanna” had eye discharge and sneezing. We were told “it’s not a big deal”. He was seen by a vet less than 48H who diagnosed him with FHV and subsequently made my other cat very sick. When contacted about this and covering vet bills for my other cat, the company didn’t even reply

I have been volunteering for Community Alley Trappers for over 2 years now. I have been so impressed with the care and love for every kitty that is helped. This rescue is moving mountains to help cats and kittens in need. Well done CAT! Very proud to be involved with such an incredible rescue!

The CAT founder and 'operator' loves cats to her very core. She would save each and every cat needing rescuing if she could, but that's an impossible feat. I've come to know her over the years, and can personally vouch for her best intentions. As one commenter complained about, responses can be vague at times, but that's not for lack of caring. It's a language issue.

My experience with CAT as a foster and adopter has been amazing. Niko truly cares for these animals and it shows. She also does her best to make sure the owner and the cat are a good match. I know this from personal experience! The entire organization are volunteers and some of the nicest people I have ever met. Here is my foster fail Bella :)

Well Community Alley Trappers you just lost someone that was sending money. Also 2 adoption of tuxedo kittens because of your employee at Pet Smart in Orleans. She assume of my financial status to adopt 2 kittens. Made a decision without visiting my home. I dealt with other rescue that would visit my home, ask and called my references . They would NEVER assume. I will be sending my money to rescue that will appreciate

Community Alley Trappers Org, this is who you want representing your movement and community that you have created? A volunteer is supposed to shine light on adoption, bring compassion and kindness. They are supposed to portray exactly the kind of behaviour that would be shown to the animals that they deal with. Rebecca or “Becca”, could not be anymore opposite of the traits that i’ve just mentioned. The amount of disappointment that I have with this human being and the organization is beyond unacceptable. Rebecca, you are the sole reason as to why these animals are not going into a loving home. You are depriving these animals of happiness and a good life by being prejudice, judgmental, condescending, controlling. You are supposed to set standards to give the pets a loving home but you are going beyond the line and you will never be able to reverse the heart break and trauma you have instilled on good human beings, that are genuinely trying to love and adopt an animal and give them a home. This is so incredibly infuriating and heartbreaking, to know that there are others that you have caused this type of pain and distress to. I hope you learn compassion and how to actually read someone’s character without preclusion and judgment, that comes along with your negativity and disgusting actions. I hope, that you can learn to open your heart and to learn what it ACTUALLY means to be a Volunteer. You should not be able walk around during your day to day and call yourself a genuine Volunteer worker, with the absolute nasty behaviour and actions you have given me and my family. By the way, my CBSA family members have told me a Passport, IS valid ID. If you’re going to lie straight to someone’s face, make it a good one. Disgusting.

I enjoy that the foster parents get to have input on adopters. As an adopter that made me feel very comfortable as the fosters know the cats best. It seems a positive way to find a good fit, and the organization has already done the background work.Microchips were a bit confusing to change over. An instruction guide with the paperwork would be good. More transparency in advance as to what vaccines a cat has will help potential adopters budget effectively.Overall I do recommend adopting from them. Health issues that were known were disclosed to me as well as potential behavioral issues (things an owner might not like, such as vocalness).

I am a foster parent for this organization and also adopted from them (as I have known quite a few people who have as well). They are doing their best to help as many cats as possible. Know that while volunteers help out and there are moderators, it is run by one woman alone and the amount of love she has for these cats is undeniable. And while we would love to save ALL OF THEM, it's just not possible. Please practice kindness and compassion, we are all doing our best.
