Very good and friendly staff and well organized securities.Came her to apply for Child passport. But the officer Sheryl purposefully finding excuses to send us back and forth. Child is only 21 days and needed to apply for passport to travel immediately for an emergency. Initially she refused to give express service even after submitting travel confirmation. We gave an explanation letter.Later she went on saying there is a slight shadow behind photo. The photo is attached here. Everyone including studio professionals is surprised to this rejection. She has no idea how hard it is to get a picture of this young child and sending us back and forth is really unkind.

I wanted to apply for a new passport. Reached here at 8am and was done by 9:40am which was very fast considering the amount of people already lined up ahead of me. Also the lady at the security was very helpful.

You need to line up as early as 5 pm the night before to be seen. They cap the line at about 128 people. Be prepared to wait, be prepared to be sent away. I got here at 5:15 am and was number 120. People arriving moments later were not seen. Security is informative and helpful. Did not get seen for a passport for urgent for 48 hrs upstairs until 3:15 pm and have to come back the next day to pick up the passport. Many people were frustrated due to incorrect information regarding transfers and lost paperwork.

I went on a friday afternoon. After the application form got checked I was told to go 2nd floor to submit the form and other necessary documents. The total wait time was an hour and a half. As long as you prepare to wait, it wasn't bad.

My friend was in a big fiasco, as she was misinformed by Whitby passport office that Scarborough town office was open on Saturdays so we could pick up her passport. The manager came in on her day off from out of town to help us out!! She went above and beyond and her kindness allowed my friend to go on her trip. The security guys were also SUPER helpful as well to help get in touch with the manager.

Pro tips-Free parking - Pls park in the STC mall parkingReduce wait times- visit on a rainy day or mid week around lunch time.Bring a folding camping chairProcessStep 1- paid parking $2 per hour.( block for 3 hours) else $98 fine - see picture.Step 2- first floor- get a ticket number - this is exactly where you will get priority to wait or not- there are codes on the ticket and if you are on business trip let them know so they can prioritize you and reduce your wait time.Step 3- second floor - wait for your turn , have proof of travel for urgent / express/ govt issued photo id like DL.

Most staff are nice. That's everything good I have to say about this place. On Jan 6, 2023, we arrived at 8:20 am, that is 10 minutes before the supposed open time of this passport office. The first floor is so crowded with multiple line-ups. You wouldn't even know where to line up... until you ask a security and get a number. At 9:40 am (waited in line for more than 1h20m), we talked to the reception and got another number. Then we moved upstairs, join another line in the actual passport office. Waited until 11:45am to be called to a window and hand in the documents. We left the place around 12 noon.I mean - I work in software industry where service level agreements (SLA), specifically Average Speed to Answer (ASA) are measure usually in seconds. So forgive me that I have a rather difficult time to understand where getting a passport in a developed, first-world country in 2023, here in Toronto, Canada takes over 3 hours and 40 minutes... That is such a violation and disrespect of human right in my humble opinion.I applied for passport back in 2005, 2010 and 2014, and those were much better experiences... sadly Canada has fall a long way since Trudeau took office

Got to the office around 6:45am on a Thursday and paid for two hours parking. The entrance is up the steps and on your left. I was 5th in line. The first 5 group/people get to skip step 1 (waiting room with the glass windows) and go straight to step 2 on the second floor where they process the renewals. They start right at 8:30am and I was able to leave the building before 8:45am.The couple of people behind me in queue were being serviced at the counters when I left the second floor. The security guards managing the line are helpful and friendly. They give clear instructions and expectations.Processing time is 10 business days at the time of this review. Picking up the passport at the office is $20 extra. Receiving it through registered mail is at no extra cost but delivery time might take 1-2 extra days.

Arrived at around 7:30am this morning and already a line up for about 20-30 people in the lobby. You will be given a small ticket to exchange the actual service number so don’t lose it.Staff at the 1st floor office (starts at 8:30am) will quickly go through your docs to make sure everything is ready. Then you are heading to the 2nd floor office for the actual application processing with the service number given. I am done and left by 9:15am.

Whatever you do, make an appointment to submit your passport application. These days it's a bit of a challenge to schedule and I made an appointment a month in advance. Once I arrived, I parked at the adjacent pay parking lot which was $2/hr. Although I was 30 min early, I walked in and went directly to the Commissionaire on the 2nd floor, bypassing everyone who was waiting in line. Once he confirmed that I had an appointment, he gave me a ticket with this information and I entered the office where my application was checked. This attendant then gave me another ticket and told me to directly go to the next floor. Once I was out of the elevator, I went into a waiting area and gave my ticket to the entrance contact. He then told me to which station number I should go and without waiting, I submitted my application and paid the fee. My passport will be mailed to me and I passed on the option to pick it up in person, as it would be a first come first serve process ,taking over 2 hours. The entire process once I arrived took only 17 minutes in total! The staff were all helpful and directed me on each leg of the process.
