You can walk around the convention center (on the outside). There are a lot of informative signs about the history of Vancouver and you have nice views of the harbour.

Behind me is the ticket booth for 3D theatre shows, you can purchase tickets for live shows that take you through an immersive experience with smells and all.Also behind me is a great mountain backdrop for selfies. Also if you keep walking to the back towards the sea here, on the side of the Pan Pacific Hotel, you will find even a better view, both in and outdoors.
