SHIELD K9 - Dog Training Woodstock

My dog and I recently attended a seminar at the Shield K9 Woodstock location. The facility is great - large enough for the 12 or so dogs that were at the seminar. Tons of parking and easy to find.So much information to process! It was great to work my dog and get feedback and also helpful to watch other people work their dogs. I would definitely recommend Shield K9 to all dog owners!!

I've known Sima for more than a decade and her passion for dogs and training has never faltered, only got stronger. Unfortunately since we live in the Netherlands, I could not join one of her seminars, but she has helped us from afar by giving excellent advice on how to deal with our dog's selective reactivity (especially helpful that Sima also has her own huskies so she knows first-hand that not all dogs enjoy being around huskies) & also gave excellent tips on recall training since our dog is quite the hunter!Whether you have a working dog or a peculiar mix with behaviour issues, Sima is your trainer!

We brought our dog Coco to Sima with the issue of him being aggressive around other dogs. She took the time to analyze and explain why he was acting the way he was. We had numerous private sessions and after the first one we saw results. We now go for walks with full control of our dog and more importantly STRESS FREE! Thank you Sima for all that you do and helping us!

Attended a seminar, nice large new facility and great instruction. Do not hesitate to take your dog in for some training, whether it's the basics or you have a behavioral issue.

We brought our miniature doodle puppy Mikasa to Sima for puppy training. She was absolutely amazing. She taught us how to keep our puppies attention and be more engaging with her so that we are the most important focus on her walk. She helped us to establish reasonable and age appropriate expectations and taught us that we were not providing enough structure to help Mikasa succeed. WOW what a change, I don't know how we ever survived without the place command.

We brought our beloved Lab to Shield K9 for the puppy training classes. We love that we have a very good foundation to build our puppies confidence and manners! Sima brought out the best in him! We are planning on doing the Level 1 training class and can’t wait to show off our dog’s behaviour! Thank you Sima and Shield K9!

You will not be disappointed! We came to Sima when we were out of options for our beagle who was showing signs of fear aggression and had started to attack our other dogs. Our home was in chaos . Although her methods were not something we were used to we were open to help our boy and kept an open mind. She gave my husband and I the tools we needed to address the issue with him at home and Within a matter of a day he started to show improvement. On day 2 he showed real change. We even had a session and brought a second dog who was a recent rescue to her that had no training and after one visit we had almost full control of him in our home. She also pointed out a few things we weren’t aware of that needed to be addressed. 2 weeks after our first visit our beagle stopped most signs of aggression towards the other dogs and only on occasion will growl. It’s a work in progress that we will continue with but Sima is a true miracle worker! Do not hesitate to book with her.

Shield K9I took my 9 month old puppy in for the board and train at Shield K9 and could not be happier with the results.My little guy is a high energy breed mixed with anxiety and a defiant nature, and after months of trying different training techniques and working through group and private training sessions elsewhere I was still having a lot of difficulty working with him. Such a great personality but things only got more challenging the bigger he got, and I was getting worried about how much important puppy development he was missing out on while we barely had the basics down.3 weeks with the trainers at Shield K9 and its a whole different story. I still get the same awesome puppy personality but the structure and foundations to learn and grow together are finally there. Trainer Sima clearly cares a lot about the training she does and the animals she works with. She went above and beyond both with my pup and then again making sure I had the tools and knowledge needed to keep things going in the right direction after getting him back home.A little more than a month later and it still amazes me how far we've come in such a short amount of time. I recommend them to anyone seeking training, and then especially anyone who is struggling and looking to get the relationship with their dog on track

Great indoor facility. Easy to find and lots of parking. Sima is an excellent trainer and extremely knowledgeable. This is they place to be if you want puppy training that works. Will definitely be returning for level 1 obedience training.

If you have not worked with Sima before you are missing out, she was really patient working with me and my dog. I was struggling with my Great Dane's confidence and leash manners, her no nonsense approach using play and accountability have made things infinitely easier.
