My daughter went to swim 1 when she was just 6. Within 2 weeks, she passed swim 1 from totally beginner level. And she is now at level 3 (6 yr + 2 months). Their teaching is very efficient and I can see she is developing swim skills every single day.

The pool at Jericho Hill is tiny, and there were 4 classes (Swim Kids 4, two preschool, and maybe Swim Kids 1?), plus one private lesson going on at the same time. The preschool classes had singing, which made it difficult for the older kids to hear their instructor.4 kids per class, 55 minutes each. The price tag was pretty steep, but other places were full, and a friend recommended them. I can see the younger classes being good - there is a supervisor on hand so kids having meltdowns wouldn't completely interrupt a class. The instructor tries to give individual feedback, but since she was coaching from the side out of the water, inevitably, the kid would stop swimming and come closer to try to hear. Not a great way to build endurance, especially in level 4. The kids also weren't able to implement her feedback most of the time. It would be more effective if she were in the water to physically adjust them so they have a tactile sense of what she's talking about. I'm also not sure if this is a company method, or a quirk of the instructor, but she calls them by number, rather than name most of the time (ex: number 3 go")--and most of the time

We paid $352 for one cycle of sessions compared to $64 with community based swim lessons using yvr community centers. We expected that the training and Coaching would be almost $300 better!? Boy, what a let down!!! Awful instruction and no advancement for my daughter. But comments at the end of each lesson by the instructor at how much improvements he sees? Apathetic and without the acumen to improve the little swimmers! I would not under any circumstances pay for this again. I would rather my kid take up another sport if we could not register with the community centre swimming programs which in my not so humble opinion are 10 fold better!
