Mighty Yeti Adventures
I stayed with Mighty Yeti Adventues (MYA), at Quirpon, NL, in early May. The hosts are Freddie and Kim, two very engaging and helpful people. They recommended a number of interesting places to experience in the area and restaurants to sample, including where local live music could be heard. They also arranged a day where I was able to watch the preparation of seal carcasses for meat and pelts, an authentic bit of Newfoundland culture. The location offers an incredible view of the bay, right out the windows. In early May, the ice was ever-changing.. From Qiurpon, I was able to tour north through St. Lunaire-Griquet to L'Anse aux Meadows, site of the first Viking settlement in North America. I also toured south through St. Anthony and on to small fishing communities along the coast, where I stopped and watched the waves crash over the cliffs and icebergs drifting by.The accommodations are rustic, but comfortable. It gets dark there at night, so you can see the moon and stars outside. It's also quiet, all you hear is the ocean. I slept well. There is Wi-Fi if you need to connect with the outside world. You are also welcome to join your hosts for breakfast.I would highly recommend a stay with Mighty Yeti Adventures for warm hospitality, outstanding scenery and to experience a bit of Newfoundland culture.

Freddie and Kim were amazing hosts. Staying here was one of the highlights of our NFLD trip.
