March 2 2021.....I was notified yesterday March 1 2021 by Maple Grove School that my son has been in close contact with a confirmed positive caseand I will be contacted by the health unit for further instructions and here we are the next day and nothing. What do we do? This is awful, zero guidance. I called all day yesterday and could not get through. Why is there not 3 shifts to make a 24 hour workday, hire more people so more can be done.I guess that's the government for you again no help.UPDATE....just got a call today March 6th....better late then never.

I am in the over 55 group. On April 13 I booked my vaccination for May 7. A friend of mine who is in the over 40 group booked his on April 19 and got his vaccination on April 21. Something is wrong here. Why can't I reschedule if it is so available? No we both booked through the health unit

Vaccination clinics in schools? Aren't schools educational facilities? they are not medical labs, offices, or pharmacies. STOP attacking our children and dividing their social world. We already do not have enough beds in youth mental health units across our province/country, we don't need this too. STAND DOWN and Keep your jab of death away from our kids.

I just called to get some advice about a family get together. Our first proper one in three years. We received very specific information and they were very supportive. Thanks to the health unit for all their hard work during this pandemic. It's very much appreciated.

The so called medical experts in this office have no clue what keeps us healthy. Why would they agree that its ok to cram 400 people into an airplane for hours...most people keep their masks off the entire time while they eat peanuts...However we can NOT go into a 20 000 Sqr foot gym to boost our immune system and overall well being. This Dr Gardener is clueless.

After a nasty encounter with a Bat in August, on a Friday afternoon of a long weekend, that resulted in several puncture wounds on both hands, I phoned the health Unit immediately and they told me I had to go through the Rabies Protocol, which would involve a series of anti-rabies injections over a couple of weeks. They said that a Bat is nocturnal, so if it is out in daylight, it is likely sick, and that I had to get started on the Rabies Vaccinations as soon as possible. They instructed me to go to the E.R. right away to get a Doctor to give them authorization to release the vaccine.I got home from the hospital an hour later, and there was a phone message from the Rabies Co-ordinator telling me exactly what the procedure would be and also receiveda further phone call by an after- hours worker telling me that the vaccine would be delivered to the Midland hospital by 10:30 the next day and told me about a schedule was already drawn up for all 4 shots, with appointments made on my behalf at the Medical Clinic for the remaining injections.I even got a phone call the next morning telling me again about the delivery process, and another call confirming that he had delivered the vaccine. The Health Unit is to be commended for there following up with me every step of the way, and their efficiency in thoroughly arranging every step of the process.Customer Service like this deserves recognition.Sincerely,Michael McLernonMidland, Ontario.
