Popped in for a nightcap while in Montreal, and was so glad we did! There is a truly wonderful selection of whiskies from around the world, with the added bonus of being able to order many by the half dram to allow for broader sampling without making it impossible to navigate the stairs back to the street at the end of the night. The staff were knowledgeable, and steered me towards two Canadian single malt whiskies that were brilliant. I would not hestitate to pop in again next time I'm in Montreal.

I had been wanting to go there for a long time but never did. I was not disappointed at all! The terasse is very cozy and the pub looks stunning inside with a beautiful showcase of whisky/liquor bottles.I had 2 cocktails and they were flavorful! Im not usually a fan of cocktails (mostly beer) but I would go there again for that. They have their own red ale (l'île noire) which is also very tasty!!Their selection of whisky and Gin is HUGE (like 14 pages)Another good thing is the taxes are already included in the price shown on the menu! That's cool! Anyways I can't wait to go again!

The staff here are friendly and prompt. The food is very good. The onion soup is the perfect thing on a cold day. The salmon tartare is also very good. I had a bite of the nachos, they were also good. The cocktail menu is good, I don't remember what I had but it was delicious. The place is warm and they have a window to where the casks are stored which is neat.

Great ambiance. The bartenders are pretty chill and nice. It’s a good pub to go with many friends. The only thing I don’t like is that some drinks can be incredibly expensive compared to other places. I do recommend the scotches here.

Second time we came in this pub, and we were really disappointed by the service this time. We were a group of 8 persons. We had to ask two times for water and then again for glasses (because we only received the water jug). The waiter took our command without taking notes and obviously forgot one beer, but he also forgot one burger that arrived 15 minutes later. It would have been OK if they apologise but we were told by 2 different persons that the delay was normal since this burger was ordered after the other (which we did not, everything was order at the same time). They never offered a discount and never came back to ask if we want more drinks. Felt quite unwelcome so we left after only one beer each.

**Ok for drinks and ambiance not for food or dinner**We tried visiting this place when the patios opened up in Montréal a few weeks ago. There were tables available however we were told they were reserved. So at the time we went to another restaurant on St-Denis.In order to guarantee a place today, we reserved in advance. The local beer pints on tap (Boreal, st-Ambroise and one l’île noire which is a red). We ordered the charcuterie platter ($22) with the description that you see on the menu. No indication that they are out of foie gras mousse and a replacement of what appeared to be a Costco selection of cured meats. There was a big glob of mustard a few pieces of bread and voila.I think they should take notes from pubs and breweries in the area because we didn’t feel like we got our money’s worth. Also, we didn’t feel the server was enthusiastic about the menu, we understand why. When we asked about food items in the Google review, they remark was that they “changed” the menuOur conclusion, Ok place for beers and drinks, not for food.

I like the friendly ambiance here. Cool place to drink and chit-chat. We liked the hummus snack we had.
