We had MSR Solutions provide design & filing for a residential septic system on one of our projects and were very disappointed with the end results. The original design had many flaws from lack of peer review such as improper slopes (2% instead of 0% for the field, very critical) as well as lack of knowledge for local building code resulting in the replacement of an undersized sewer lateral from the residence to the tanks despite being asked, which we were told exceeded engineering standards and would be accepted by the municipality.The costs of excavating the newly installed sewer lateral was thousands of dollars in additional costs to the client and were never reimbursed despite mentioning to myself and the client their would be partial reimbursement. I would not recommend MSR Solutions to anyone looking for a septic design as there’s a very clear lack of construction knowledge and abilities to understand the required scope of work in their designs (original designed showed installing septic tanks in a protected tree zone with heavy blasting and no equipment access)

I worked at MSR for almost three years after being hired for two Co-op terms during my schooling. Working for a relatively small company gave me the opportunity to expand my skill set by working on a variety of different engineering projects. This made my time at MSR thoroughly enjoyable because I was always learning and developing. The projects that I was assigned to were always different and refreshing. I also felt that my efforts were appreciated by the team and also made an impact in the community.Mike was a terrific leader who encouraged me to leave my comfort zone and wanted me to succeed and grow. Mike's light sense of humour created a relaxed work environment. Mike was always looking for ways to create an employee-first atmosphere. Having frequent celebration lunches, installing a pool table on-site, providing self & professional improvement courses, and offering the option of a four-day workweek. Mike has gathered a passionate team at MSR that all bring individual talents to the organization. The high-spirited team and fulfilling work that I completed made it a pleasure to come to work every day. Overall, I would strongly recommend MSR as a place to work and develop both professionally and personally.
