Harris Woollen Mill Ruins
The beauty around the ruins is great!!! There's a little waterfall and the river that flows down if you are up for a walk the trails are amazing and then you reach the beach. There's a little trail near the beach area which leads you to the river and it is frozen now and that is a good spot for pictures. It would have been better if the ruins were open. It was soo refreshing.

Great hike with amazing views.I definitely recommend you to visit this Conservation Area. It has a swimming area, you can do kayak, picnic, bike, camping, bird watch, etc.

It was very beautiful, and if you're a photographer or if you're a movie director this would be a great place to film in or to take pictures. You can either walk through forests or take a walk on a path. This place also has an old castle which is beautiful, but I sadly didn't take any of the castle.

So interesting to see something like this and the age of the structure preserved, well much of it. 136 years later we are all walking around it taking pictures and most not knowing it's history. Once the mainstay of Rockwood's economy, this mill was first established in 1867 on the Eramosa River. The original wooden mill burned and was replaced by the current limestone structure in 1884. The caves is a must see as they are very interesting. The views from up high above everything are breath taking.

Harris Woollen Mill Ruins
A beautiful historical place preserved very well. This place marks ancient human civilization in 1800's when people used engineering to stop, divert and utilize the water energy to run mills. Not only that, the walking trails and amazing parks, picnic spots and fishing pond are worth enjoying. This place, though I uncovered quite late, was enjoyable visiting.

When we went it was fenced off but you can still get interesting views of the brick work and overall structure. The trails are mostly dirt terrain but with some steps and slightly steep inclines\declines. We took a toddler and grandparents. So it's good for all ages. Not sure if there might be fully accessible paths from end to end though.

Very pretty but not a very large area to paddle around. It was very busy, recommended to show up before 9 if you want to launch a boat near the mill ruins.

If your at Rockwood Conservation Area this is a must visit. It is fenced off to the public but you can get fairly close, and if you have a kayak, canoe or paddle board you can get even closer though a small inlet off the river near by really cool piece of history to check out!

Very cool ruins. Unfortunately it is fenced off at the current time (August 2021). However you can still view how magnificent these ruins are from outside the fence barrier.

This is a beautiful spot. Parking now is right in front of this. There is a fence but still a good spot to take lovely pictures. Close to the ruins is a small dam and possible to take the trails from here
