Came for dinner, been many times before. Got the chicken parmesan, and it tasted like they may have changed their recipe, the texture of the chicken was a little different than in the past. Not necessarily in a bad way, though. It was a good portion, and the spaghetti and meat sauce was also quite good with it.Price has gotten up there, though, and the service started off very good but then it seemed later on the meal that we were forgotten about as we stopped getting drink refills and it took a while for our plates to be taken, and then took longer still for the server to come back, we had to flag him down to get him to bring our bill.

Have been here a few times with my kids and spouse, service/server has always been fantastic and friendly.Food quality is delicious and price is good as well.Highly recommend

My partner and I have gone here for breakfast a few times and we always have a great experience. They have the traditional breakfast options such as pancakes, eggs, potatoes, fruit, French toasts, omelettes, etc. When we went today we got the Mediterranean omelette and the two eggs with pancakes. Everything was a fair price, good portions, fresh, tasted great and prepared fast. Our waiter was also very friendly and personable. Another plus is they have gluten free toast and potatoes that taste great, so if you are celiac like me you won’t have worry about substituting your sides.

We dine at Chances R most Friday nights and many breakfasts. The food and staff are always 1st class. Although all the staff are wonderful, the 2 servers that really are amazing are Judy for breakfast and George for dinner. 5 Stars for sure.

We went last night and it was very busy but we got a table right away. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. We haven’t been this impressed by a place in a long time. We’ll definitely be back

Fast and friendly service but food is ok. I had the lasagna and it is terrible. It's nothing like it used to be. The pasta noodles were half cooked and there was barely any cheese. Not worth the price I paid.

Reliable restaurant. We always go with family and everyone always finds something to order.The portions are huge American style, which is not my style, but others love it. But, Chances R’s problem is inconsistency.The cocktails are a hit or a miss. Stick with bottles, draught, canned cider, or wine. I get teased by the four or so cocktails on their list & when I order them, they are always a let down. Not tasty at all, and very much what you would expect from a mall-restaurant or diner.Their food is always a hit or miss (we have been going here for 10+ years so this isn’t a one-off)I ordered the beef dip this time around, which is usually my favourite item on the entire menu. The beef was so dry not even the au-jus could save it. My fries were burnt, the gravy was chunky and they do use shredded mozzarella for their poutine. But my kid’s fries were perfect, and our order came out at the same time. I wanted to order sweet potato fries, but they don’t carry a spicy or chipotle mayo for it. Just an applewood mayo, our server informed us.The kids pizza was very undercooked - that neither of the kids enjoyed it, where as previous times they wolfed it down and loved it so much that they continued to order it.We understand there are a ton of staffing issues across the city, but for a restaurant like this we definitely expect to see more consistency across the board. As the food or drinks aren’t really “elevated” or “complicated” it’s just a regular pub / family restaurant menu. Maybe their menu needs to be smaller so they can make sure the items they do have are the same quality every time.We will be back - as it the grandparents favourite place.

Update: went for breakfast today with two friends. Saturday morning and the place was packed but we got a table quickly. I got the breakfast club on GF toast and it was sooooo good. My friends also enjoyed their meals (standard breakfast for one and eggs Benedict for the other). Waitress was friendly, gluten knowledgeable and provided great service despite being very busy. Love this place!As a person who can't eat gluten, I get really excited when restaurants offer true, safe GF food (most restaurants have gluten friendly options with high risk of cross contamination cuz they don't use seperate fryers, etc and options are quite limited). Chances R have way more options than I realized, including fries that are cooked in seperate fryer, GF bread and tortillas for sandwiches and wraps, spaghetti and even pizza (that's not on the official menu but you can request it). Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly and our food was excellent. Will definitely be back.

The prices are high.I ordered spring rolls appetizer. Price was 16.99. I got 3 spring rolls cut in half with 2 small dips.The food not so great. My daughter said that the lasagna tasted like it was frozen. The salad I had tasted like fish.The service was just ok.Now to be fair because my daughter didn't eat her food at all they didn't charge me for it.The menu was kind of small. Not much choice.It was however very clean.
