Second Floor Events

I’m still on a post wedding bliss. We just had our wedding October 9 and if there were any chaos/issues happening in the background, I wouldn’t even know it. Second Floor event wasn’t on my radar until my Wedding Planner Jeannie (A Blush Moment) recommended to me. When I went for a venue visit, I instantly knew they made some a nice upgrade to the floor since the last time I was there many years ago for a Christmas Market. Rachel Irwin gave me the initial tour. Once the contract was signed, Cindy Li became my main contact. She worked hand in hand with me, vendors and my planner to ensure the day goes seamlessly. She made recommendation to ensure we don’t under-order anything, gave us feed back on schedule etc. She was so attentive as it got closer to the wedding day. There are a lot of add on to make your event ultra customized. We only opted to add string lights ($650). If you have any furkids, you can bring them but they just need to be gone by the time canapés are being served.Wedding day can be stressful, but honestly everything felt like it was on schedule. The food was amazing (4 canapés + 3-course, about $80pp) and I received quite a few compliments on the food. My only complaint is that during tasting I requested our miso cod to be less salty and some relatives mentioned it was still too salty. The food was beautifully plated and so colourful.If it is within your budget to pay for the Premium Bar ($65pp) go for it! The cocktails were so fun and it was so great to provide my guests with a huge variety. FYI They do not allow shots (you have to pay 3 times the LCBO price for the bottle that you can set aside just for shots if you are truly adamant).For outside late night (we ordered McDonalds), Second Floor charges a 15% landmark fee.We love how central the location was because we didn’t want our friends to be trekking too far. We love how intimate the space was. My goal was to create an elevated house party experience and have a warm welcoming vibe. Hosting the wedding at Second Floor definitely achieved that.Thank you Cindy and Second Floor Events team for being part of one of the best day of my life.

My husband and I had our wedding at Second Floor Events in February 2022 and had an incredible day. We feel lucky to have picked this venue as they were truly fantastic to work with during especially challenging pandemic times. Rachael and Cindy were wonderful from our booking date right through to the wedding day, and made themselves available as resources to talk through the many, many government restriction changes that occurred during planning.We went for an all-inclusive package, and opted to upgrade our bar - there are a few single malt scotch aficionados in our family as well as picky wine drinkers, and everyone was thrilled with the selection. We wanted a few specialty cocktails and they were incredibly accommodating, plus the bartenders were professional, fun and attentive as was the service staff during dinner and cocktails. The staff was also thoughtful enough to put canapés into our bridal suite so that we could have a quiet moment to ourselves, paying special attention to my dietary restrictions to ensure I could fully enjoy them. We were thrilled with the decor add-ons (we customized the light boxes, Edison bulbs and lectern) and everything was gorgeous. Our guests could NOT stop raving about the food.Cindy was our venue coordinator and was there on the day of our wedding to help coordinate all details. She was fabulous with all our vendors leading up to the event as well. Our day-of coordinator mentioned how organized and thoughtful she was.Thanks so much to the Second Floor team for the best day ever. It could not have been better!

My partner and I had our wedding here in Feb 2023 and we’re so happy with our choice to do so. The staff communicated so clearly and professional leading up to the day, throughout the night, and in the days following. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and overall everything went just as planned! Would definitely recommend as an event / wedding space :)

Literally the best wedding venue! Couldn’t have asked for a better spot! The staff was top notch and made our wedding even better than expected by interacting so well with our guests and keeping things going so smoothly. The food and drink selection was incredible - everyone commented on how delicious everything was and loved the thought that went into the dietary restriction alternatives. The tasting with the chef and venue coordinator was perfect and helped us nailed down all the details. We felt so comfortable and relaxed going into our wedding day. This team is truly the best! Even our other vendors loved their team! And of course, the venue itself is such a vibe - industrial but warm, and filled with character with lots of room to customize. Highly highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at this gorgeous venue last fall and can't wait to do another one.The style of venue is right up my alley - beautiful brick and exposed wooden beams create the perfect loft look. They had other great small touches like string lights, marquee signs and large paneled windows that leave enough room for couples/clients to add their own touches.Working with the staff was a breeze as soon as I arrived. They kept me in the loop with upcoming events to make sure I wouldn't miss a moment and helped me out with small requests that I needed to do my job.It's also worth stating that the location of 2nd Floor Events offers a lot of great backgrounds for photo sessions including the alley it's entrance is on + King & Queen's Street. I will be sure to mention this to my next client that books here as we ended up doing our photos in Liberty Village.Finally, how could I forget about the food. So amazing! The cut of beef was cooked to perfection and so flavourful. I can't wait to return!

Perfect does not even begin to describe our experience with Second Floor Events for our wedding! The entire process was made so easy and incredible by their talented team especially our coordinator Niamh. From the very beginning, they were so flexible in working with my schedule to arrange a site visit, from there they were able to develop a proposal that really capture the customizations that were so important to us. The top notch quality service did not disappear after booking, if anything we were given even better support and were always provided with quick and detailed responses to every single question. I did not hire a wedding planner so I really worked closely with Niamh and Second Floor Events right up until our wedding day to finalize every detail and they were incredibly accommodating. The space itself is like nothing I have ever seen and provides so much opportunity for personalization. It was really important to us to provide our guests with an easy comfortable experience that day so being able to have both the ceremony and reception in one location was amazing and allowed for more time for us and our guests to just enjoy! A week later I am still getting compliments on the food!!! This is not your typical wedding food - it is upscale and visually amazing! The portions are perfect and satisfying and the chef and team have an incredible attention to detail regarding dietary restrictions and allergies. I cannot recommend this venue enough and you will have absolutely no regrets booking with them!

Second Floor Events is a great place to have your wedding. We fell in love with the place on our initial walkthrough with Rachael, the events director. The space has a beautiful modern rustic vibe with exposed brick and lots of natural light and greenery behind the impressively long bar. Good food was a priority for us and they were able to set up a tasting before we even signed anything. The chef was even able to create a custom vegan menu for us, since we are both vegetarian with many vegan friends. During the tasting, Rachael was so kind and accommodating, and really made it a special evening for us, particularly since at the time we haven’t had many meals out in a while due to COVID. We were even able to meet and talk with the chef about the food in person. With the wedding approaching we were introduced to Cindy, who was our main point of contact and day of coordinator for the venue. She was so enthusiastic and great to work with leading up to and on the day of the wedding, and helped make sure our day went exactly as planned!
