I was excited to come here after hearing so many great things but was pretty underwhelmed by the food. I ordered the summer pasta" which was store bought linguine covered in butter with minced garlic (very little flavour for the amount of garlic suspect it was the garlic from the jar) with some spinach and a few halved cherry tomatoes. You can't add any options to this so I asked for some bacon on the side as one of their menu items contains bacon but was told that wasn't possible. It would've been nice to be able to add bacon and/or chicken for a fee. This dish was extremely bland and oily. I had to add salt

The best and most unique restaurant I've ever been to. Located at the very end of a dirt road right on the edge of the ocean. We were lucky to have been there on a warm sunny day in September. The service was quick and the lobster roll was spectacular. My husband had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich, and he said it was out if this world! Afterwards, we walked to the lighthouse nearby and even walked up to the top. Just a beautiful place to be, so if you are in the east side of PEI, this is a must.

Very casual and rustic, but we stopped in for a quick lunch. The servers were quick and efficient, the food was good and the location unique. Strongly recommend if you visit this area.

Lovely food with a beautiful view. I’ve been here a few times and family and friends. I have never had bad service or a bad meal. Generally friendly and well priced. It has a diverse menu, so don’t be put off by the idea of seafood chowder only. You’re best off to make a reservation, but if you don’t have one they can usually give you a wait time. If its a nice day, you can walk up to the lighthouse and around to kill the wait time. This spot does get busy- I would say the only issue I’ve had is tracking down the server when you’re ready to go. More than once I’ve just gone to the til after a long wait. Not worth demoting stars over, for sure!

The reviews are pretty accurate. Excellent clam chowder and the grilled cheese with pulled pork was beyond expectations - by a lot. Who'd a thought. View is incredible, service friendly and efficient. Prices are fair.Would have loved to try the actual dine in experience but that was fully booked a month out. Can understand why.Absolutely worth the drive!!

This was a total surprise find. We were driving down this dirt road to check out the lighthouse (visiting from Calgary) and came across this cute little restaurant at the end of the road. We had no idea it was even there so surprised they asked us for reservations. We didn’t have any but we were able to order take out and enjoy sitting outside on the picnic tables instead. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Even enjoyed a nice glass of wine. We went with a basic grilled cheese which was good. It’s a beautiful spot to soak up the water, views and just relax.

Best chowder and beautiful view of the ocean and lighthouse. We got take out because they were full for dine-in (must reserve online) but they have picnic tables right outside of their patio. The dine-in menu has more seafood selection and we will definitely be coming back to try it!

Point Prim Chowderhouse in PEI is a true culinary gem that deserves all the praise it receives. From the mouthwatering lobster rolls to the delightful seafood pot, this place delivers an exceptional dining experience. The lobster rolls are a revelation, with tender and flavorful lobster meat tucked into perfectly toasted buns. best I’ve ever had!!The seafood pot is a medley of mussels, clams, shrimp, and fish cooked to perfection in a savory broth. All of this is complemented by a breathtaking seaside view that adds a touch of magic to the meal. The casual vibe, friendly staff, and warm hospitality make you feel right at home. If you're in PEI and craving delicious seafood in a picturesque setting, Point Prim Chowderhouse is a must-visit.

We ordered the seafood chowder and oysters. The oysters are wild and caught from the Pinette river which is 5 min away from the restaurant. The oysters are eaten raw. We've never eaten raw oysters before. Only my mom and I ate the oysters. My dad isn't a seafood lover. The oysters tasted very fresh and tasted like the ocean, a bit salty and delicious. Adding the lemon and the horseradish gave the oysters a little kick. The seafood chowder was creamy and delicious. We also never had seafood chowder before.I heard and read that this restaurant had some really good chowder. They have free and very cold water in the water cooler tank outside. They have plastic utensils and cups.Total cost was $40.25.There's a nice view of the ocean and beach/ocean floor at low tide. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.Dog friendly restaurant. They have water bowls for your furry friends. You can take photos of the Point Prim Lighthouse from here and of the low tide.
