Norwegian Laft Hus Society

Nice place to visit, right in downtown Red Deer. A hidden gem.

Very interesting place. The young men working there where very knowledgeable and friendly. They were aware of Norwegian history and other Scandanavian history.

Lovely little park with a few historical buildings of note. The Laft Hus with the sod roof is fascinating.

Was a neat little hidden treasure. Would have been nice to be able to go in the other buildings.

A great place to spend some time in the city without leaving the city.Plenty of artifacts in the museum and friendly operators make this an easy locale to appreciate even with the children.On the right day you can see goats trimming the roof and several events are held here throughout the year.Makes for a great afternoon especially when the events are taking place.If you're Norwegian in heritage and are curious about Norway's culture be sure to stop by it is the most centralized Norwegian culture locale in Central Alberta.Also lots of nice handmade items for sale in the gift shop.
