Dr. Somer is an excellent vet who deserves 5 stars. When we first brought our cat Oscar to her clinic, his condition was declining and we had no idea what was wrong with him. Dr. Somer was able to quickly and accurately recommend the care that saved his life, and even refer us to another vet in case he required more complex treatment. She is upfront and honest about treatment options and their costs and clearly cares about the pets that see her. I would absolutely recommend Dufferin-Steeles Animal Hospital and Dr. Somer.

Warm, compassionate care. Wonderful service. Reasonable rates. Dr. Somer and Dr. Ben-Ari explained everything very clearly. Our cat normally hates visits to the vet, this time he was quite relaxed. Highly recommended.

Charlene and the team always treat my dog with love and kindness, and are incredibly welcoming and patient with me. My fiancee and I brought our new puppy here. We rescued her from a terrible situation of neglect, and when we got her, she was underweight, with patches of fur falling off her and terrible lethargy and diarrhea. Dr. Somers and her amazing team not only nursed her back to health, they have been there for every crisis, and for all the firsts" with her. They took care of her for 6 days while we were away for a surgery

We have followed Dr. Somer from another clinic. She is our pets' veterinarian, not the clinic. She has assembled a caring and compassionate team and a lovely facility. She knows how important our pets are and that they are members of the family. She treats them as they were her own. She also treats the humans who bring their pets to her with the same respect and compassion. She explains procedures, options, costs, etc. in a clear manner. She has helped us navigate through some very difficult times with clarity and compassion. She definitely goes beyond expectation.I can't recommend her enough!

Only saw the vet once in person for the 7 months that i have taken my puppy there. At first I understood because of covid they didnt let anyone inside. But after all other places are at full capacity, they still didnt let me in. I asked the front desk lady who theyre letting inside once and she said only fully vaccinated people can go inside but i was never even asked if i was fully vaccinated. Only talked to the vet about 3 times on the phone and the rest of the times i was only in contact with front desk which made me feel like i couldnt even ask questions about my dog. When i expressed how i felt to front desk lady she said “Thank you for your feedback” not even a sorry you feel that way or any explanation. That was the last straw for me. I truly felt like they didnt genuinely cared about my dog. Will be taking her somewhere else.

First time visit to this animal hospital. Was so pleased with my experience. The staff made my baby feel safe, and took such good care of her during her visit. I love the extra little details they put into their office, like posting her name on their white board, and the treats they gave her. Will absolutely be returning!

Clinic overcharges for services and vac. Visits and checkup will turn into a long list of recommendations that they can’t even tell you why it’s recommended besides the dollar sign. You’ll be charged with unexpected expenses visit after visit until you realize it

Staff at this Hospital always go the extra mile to make my Siberian Husky feel comfortable! Doctor Somer is the best!
