A lovely day out from the middle of the city. Hire a Quad bike and roam the island. Watching planes land (airfield nearby) , beaver tail speciality food, wildlife and beaches. Relaxing picnic.

Great place to visit in the summers ☀️! You can go to the island especially in the evening to get a glimpse of beautiful sunsets and the Toronto skyline.

My absolute favourite beach in the city to photograph in. Not too busy most of the time (unless it's the long weekend), washrooms are nearby and the boardwalk is super pretty! There's also a little birch mini-forest on the edge of the beach which is stunning in the fall.

As a wedding photographer, I recently had the opportunity to capture a proposal at a beach on Ward’s Island. The setting was beautiful, with the calm waters of the lake as well as the Toronto skyline providing a stunning backdrop for their special moment.I took the ferry over to the island, which is run on a schedule and I personally find much safer than the water taxis. This specific area on the island was quite secluded, and had an amazing view of the city. The weather was perfect for the proposal, with clear skies and a gentle breeze. The golden hour light added a warm glow to the photos, making them even more special.Overall, capturing this proposal was a unique experience for both the couple and myself. The backdrop of the Toronto skyline and the tranquil beauty of the beach really made for a unique and romantic setting. This is great spot for a proposal, I will definitely be recommending this spot to future clients!

Super nice island, less busy than the other two! If you time your visit nicely you can get a gorgeous view of the skyline at sunset! Met some super nice locals from the residential area. The board walk from Centre Island to Ward's at the back of the islands is a wonderful walk as well. We usually ferry to Centre Island, walk the boardwalk and then ferry back from Ward's.

Although it was the wrong time of year to visit, I still found myself captivated by the serene beauty of Ward's Island. The long boardwalk empty of pedestrians carried with it a sense of joyful solitude. The air was fresh and bracing while the nearby park was littered with Frisbee Golf stations. It's not large in size and should not take long to explore. I would definitely return here perhaps when it's open so I can partake of the nearby amusement park.

The Ward’s Island is a must to escape the buzzing city life of Toronto. A short ferry ride from the Jack Layton’s ferry terminal takes you the island where you’ll find a beach and a catwalk along the southshore. This is also a great location to take your iconic picture of Toronto skyline. The public toilet on Ward’s Island is located East of the dock, near the beach; the other one is close off season.

Small, quiet island. Cute cafe available. But it has the best view of the toronto skyline.
