A nice alternative to the departure bay ramp, but steep, and no dock, so you're getting wet when you launch.

Seems a bit steep, bit of a blind curve on approach as well. Seldom see anybody put in there. Great spot for small rigs though.

This is a quiet area during the week but bustling on the weekends. The boat owners using this launch area are quick to get in or out and two can use the ramp at the same time. If you have a larger boat, 25 feet or more, launch during high tide or drive the 7 kilometers to Brechen boat ramp near the Departure Bay ferry terminal just off of Stuart Ave. Charmaine boat ramp launches into Hammond Bay, an area rich in history and folklore having the Three Island Park which is home to more than a dozen wooden shacks built by minors over a hundred and twenty five years ago. After leaving some thirty years later two decades passed until several Japanese families squated on the islands and began whaling. Hammond Bay feeds Pipers Lagoon is a body of water covering an area of approximately six acres. The lagoon empties and fills completely twice a day with the tides. This is all topped off with spectacular views of the Sunshine Coast across the Satish Sea

Great beach access but I wouldn't launch a boat here if there was any wind at all.

Grew up in the house beside the boat ramp. Great spot to launch your boat and get to the fishing much quicker

Great place except for the lazy people who park in the vehicle with trailer parking without a trailer by the ramp and plug up parking.

Checked today to see about launching my 12’ sailing dinghy from a trailer. The ramp is VERY steep and narrow with large vehicle damaging rocks on one side. The bay is mostly sheltered unless it’s blowing from the North.

Free but needs some work parking is limited and the hill is steep so you will need good traction when the road is wet or icy.
