My favorite pet store on the coast. Great people, very knowledgeable.

Until today I've had good experiences in this shop with friendly helpful staff with positive attitudes. Today was the opposite unfortunately. After waiting to go into the store to make a purchase, I was met with a staff member who was immediately cold, hard and unfriendly with a bad attitude. It seemed that I was just an annoyance and felt that she wanted no customers to annoy her. She was also nasty to my dog (I thought, if you don't like animals then don't work in a pet store). I was told about the protocol for covid ie sanitize your hands etc. I have absolutely no problem with any store's protocol, but the negative arrogant tone in which it's delivered is not necessary. To top it off she was behind the aisle I was in bad mouthing me to another staff member and skewing what really had transpired to her benefit. I could hardly wait to leave that store and certainly will never be back. As I left she gave me a sarcastic have a nice day" with that same rude arrogant tone. Wow. Nice. To me this person is a detriment to this business. I've spent a lot of money there but no more. I'll be shopping at all of the other friendly pet stores on the Coast from now on and I'll pass on how I was treated as well."

They helped me find what I came for. They have friendly staff and good products to keep my fur babies happy and healthy

I've emailed this store twice and have not received a reply. It's now been 3 weeks and I need to find out if a specific food is in stock. Why offer a contact form if they don't monitor their inbox? I want to support local businesses on the Sunshine Coast, but how am I to do that when I can't even get a response from the store. I guess I'll be going to Pet Valu instead.

Girl who handles the fish was very rough with them. I am a very well versed seasoned fish owner, many of the things she said and suggested were incorrect. I would prefer if the caretakers of the fish would have more knowledge about what they’re taking care of.

I have recently gotten myself a Betta and the staff are wonderful! They’ve answered all my questions, have helped me to set my tank right, and they do water checks for me. All around amazing people, very knowledgeable and kind. Scott has helped me through the past month with my fishy and I couldn’t be more grateful! If I could give 10 stars I would. Definitely recommend this pet store for new pet owners.

A sweet and lovely pet shop. The staff is SO sweet. I love it there so much.

I've been going to this store since I was a child, and as an adult I've kept up with the changes of this place. It has a lot of options, and many supplies and products that are difficult to find up on the coast, but they need to do better by their bettas. As folks that are supposed to sell and provide for pets in their care they need to put in the effort to do their research on fish, specifically bettas. Please for the love of god stop perpetuating the myth that they are fine in tiny cubes or bowls, they are not, it takes less than a second to search up proper betta care. They need at least five gallons, a filter and a heater. Yes they are fish with lungs, but that is only for dire situations in the wild when there are droughts, and is a temporary means of survival until the rain comes back, which doesn't take long due to where they are from.They DO NOT live in puddles, they come from Thailand's rice patties and marshes, which is a warm, wet, rainforest enviroment of at least a foot or more deep of plant filtered water that can span a few acres.I get that they are there until they are bought which hopefully isn't long, but it isn't an excuse to let them sit in their own waste and have ammonia build up and burn their gills, or be cramped in a tiny cold space. They need space, heat, and clean water like any tropical fish.Please update your information and husbandry like most modern day local pet stores. You are supposed to be the example of care for these animals, especially as the last place on the coast that sells fish, and stop the perpetuation of it being okay to abuse bettas because of misinformation from decades ago. They are an animal first before a decoration or a product.Not mad at you guys, just dissapointed. I would prefer to support my local pet store, but I can't anymore knowing they are treated like that, and if you honestly didn't know, then now's the time to accept it and change it.Don't be greedy, don't make excuses, and do the right thing for the animals. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable

Staff are wonderful. Knowledgeable and entertaining to chat with.They take very good care of their live stock.
