At Home Dog Trainer

We have three dogs and recently found ourselves looking for a dog trainer for many reasons. One of our dogs has become aggressive, one has major anxiety and the other needs some minimal training. I found Rachel online and filled out the form to receive more information. She promptly called me back the next day (as I had filled the form out later the night before). I was unable to answer and we played phone tag a few times but she never gave up trying to contact me. We finally spoke tonight for about 30 minutes regarding our dogs. She gave us some great information and made us feel at ease with the situation. She also made us feel like it's not impossible to change them! I loved the time she spent getting to know us and listen to us over the phone. We didn't even talk about how much it was until the very end and at that point she had sold us by everything she said! (We probably would have paid any amount she quoted us because she seems so worth it!) we felt like she understood us and explain things to us that made some much sense about each dog. We are lucky that she had a cancellation in two days to come work with us. So I am writing this review a bit prematurely, however I was so impressed with her during our phone call I felt she deserved this review already! I will also review after she has helped us with our fur babies! I highly recommend you speak with Rachel even if you are unsure of whether to pursue training your dogs!

Michah is an amazing trainer. I have a cattle dog, a very difficult breed, and Michah was able to establish a rapport with her immediately and then help develop a plan for her training. She explained everything to me so that I was able to carry on until the next lesson. I was left with detailed notes, as well as homework. This is my 10th dog and by far my most successful experience thanks to Michah. I can't recommend her highly enough!

Michah has been absolutely amazing at helping my boyfriend and I with our dog’s separation anxiety. It is clear from the first minute that Michah not only knows what she is doing, but loves what she is doing. When looking for someone to help with our dog’s separation anxiety, Michah stood out to be because she does one on one sessions in your own home, which is super convenient and you get her full attention. Michah did our trainings in one hour sessions where she observed the problems, demonstrated different techniques to help our dog, and then had us practice these techniques in front of her. At the end of each session, Michah left detailed notes about what we went over during the session so that we could practice on our own. We are so appreciative of the time and care Michah took to help us help our pup; I would and will recommend Michah to anything looking for a dog trainer.

We had recently rescued a dog and wanted to stop him from jumping and barking on guests as they approached our house. He had learned commands quickly like sit and down so I felt confident that with the right training, we would be able to correct his behavior. I was not expecting that within an hour of Rachel's first visit, that he would already have learned not to jump on the couch or to bark as other dogs went past our house. He's already a different, better behaved dog and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. I'm really excited to continue with the training and bring out the best in our newest family member.

I am still in disbelief at how effective Rachel's training techniques are. In just one session, she made me truly believe that there is hope for my Luna. In only a few days time, I am already noticing a huge difference in my pup, and I couldn't imagine having her trained by anyone else. We are grateful for Michah's training of our four year old rescue dog Chester. When he arrived, Chester was afraid to walk on the two steps of our front porch to enter our home. He was even more afraid of our garage and our cars. We had brought him home from the shelter in a crate covered by blankets. It would have been impossible to take him anywhere for meaningful training, so having Michah come to our home was ideal. Michah was great with Chester and patient with us. Michah was willing to meet us where we were both in location and dog philosophy - which from our prior dog training experience we recognize as a unique skill. Chester now walks up stairs, likes our garage, and jumps in cars. Chester is still evolving week by week and in the meantime has become a beloved family member. We thank Michah for making this process smoother and less stressful.

Rachel is amazing! I couldn't believe how quickly my dogs responded to her training. With her coaching, I was able to enforce the training and rules in my home so that my pups responded and listened to my commands. Now our dogs are calm and listen when the doorbell rings, and wait for guests to arrive rather than charging and barking at the door. She also showed me how to loose leash walk my two dogs, which makes our long walks a lot less chaotic. So happy we were able to work with her!

Rachel really helped me with my new puppy. Our puppy had intense anxiety, pulled when walked and barked incessantly at a family member. I felt horrible because I was beginning to really not enjoy being around our new pet. Our puppy now walks beautifully on a harness, is much calmer when in her crate and much more relaxed when visitors come to the house. I look forward to spending time with my pet and can't wait to take her for walks everyday!

I highly recommend Rachel without reserve. After many failed attempts with other trainers/classes Rachel came to our home and within the first session had our dogs responding and our chaos under control. This was no easy feat given we have 3 dogs and two of them are high energy, noisy Jack Russell terriers. With the tools and techniques we learned under her guidance We are amazed that we now can experience a home free of the non stop barking and can come and go, as can guests, without being jumped on and nipped at. Happy stress free dogs mean happy stress free owners !

Rachel came highly recommended to me from a friend of mine. My dog and best friend Dexter (a pitbull mix) had become aggressive toward men after an incident in our home. From the very moment that Rachel arrived in my home, I knew she was the savior I'd been looking for. She didn't just tell me what I was doing wrong, or what Dexter was doing wrong. She really educated me and taught me to see things through Dexter's eyes. She worked with us so patiently and taught me things I NEVER would have known about my dog and why he was behaving the way he was. She is the most incredible dog trainer I ever worked with. And because of her, and what she taught us, my dog Dexter has done a complete 180. My friends, my neighbors, and even my vet have made so many comments and compliments about the positive change in him. Dexter is happier now that he knows his boundaries. And I feel safe and secure with him knowing I'm back in control. I couldn't have done this without Rachel. I wouldn't recommend anyone else!
